D&D 5E (OOC) Vault of the Dracolich 5E (Full)

I have a question on swimming, I know Drako will be at disadvantage for attacks but how far can he move per turn? Is it 15 feet? Also how are you ruling on magic attacks under water for say EB or shatter?

It's a while since I've done an adventure that ended up in the water.
Udit can boat you into position if needed....

I'm happy. Gives a lot of flavor.

I like flavor. So if we want to break Terrus off with gargoyleking's Warlock and the new Warforged, we need another player. Or at least another character. Any volunteers? (Other than tglassy - you've got enough characters!)

Otherwise, we should just fit the Warforged into one or the other party. But Which?

So... there was some talk about the Dispensables taking a short rest. I think with nightfall on the way, they should make their way to the Trog cave, or they will have a heck of a time finding their way up Blackpeak's crags in the dark.

There's also the possibility of Terrus staying behind. We need to figure out if that's happening asap.

Our options are:
1: The new Warforged goes in one or the other party already on the go.
2: Gargoyleking makes his Warlock, Terrus stays behind to join them and:
A) We get one more PC
or B) I run a few NPCs in this otherwise three-person party.

They would use NPC stat-blocks, so they'd be cannon-fodder.

I'm okay with any of those options. Any preferences?

BTW, effectively what happens is, the more Parties there are, the faster this Adventure is over. (As the dungeon gets cleared out, the idols found, and the task completed). Otherwise, with fewer parties, each party has to do more.

Again, I don't mind either scenario. Let me know what you think.

I was thinking I could put a stealthy character together.
I flicked through the Volo's Guide to Monsters and saw the Tabaxi race (cat-people). Would you be ok with that? If not, than I will go human or halfling... it's not a big deal.
Also, I was thinking making this stealthy character a swashbuckling pirate... or is that too cheesy?
What do you think, FitzTheRuke?

How long was it until nightfall? I thought it was close to 2 hours. If so, then we could have a short rest before we set off. It could be considered that we already started our short rest as soon as we started to intimidating and questioning the prisoners (light activity). We just need to bandage the injured ones (roll HD).
However, we also need to consider have far away is the Trog cave. If it is much longer than one hour to get there, then we need to skip the short rest.

I say bring on the new team, and use NPC's if we have to. Heck, let's convince the Captain guy to come with us, and he and the guards can be the NPC's. Terrus can stay with them.

A Warlock with the Actor Feat and Mask of Many Faces would do wonders for that team. Pretend to be the captain, nobody's the wiser. Doesn't even matter what race they are.
