D&D (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

That's not Hunter's Mark as the community desires.

That was voted out.

The fan community wants Hunter's Mark and they want HM that triggers in every attack.
And I'm OK with that as long as it is not a mandatory ranger feature or if there is an option to trade it for something else.

and community wanted HM that triggers on every attack and for rangers that is has no concentration.

The issue is

Trade it for What?

But they agreed that this was too powerful in tier 1 & 2.

It's the stereotypical sitcom wife/GF restaurant thing.

"I'm hungry. But no Italian"
"Where do you wanna go?"
"I dunno.you pick"
"Joey's"
"Not seafood"

Or how everyone know paladin was too powerful but few gave a solution and half complained about the fix.

People are good at identifying a problem but suck a providing or accepting a solution.

the 64k question isn't it?

replace HM with Cure wounds
at levels 5,9,13,17 increase healing by 1d8.
13th level; Cure is bonus action
17th level; range is 60ft
20th level: heal is maximized

I know that no one races to be dedicated healer as a ranger, but could be a nice twist.

they or WotC? agreed, it was voted very favorably if I remember correctly?

most said that "once on your turn" would be more than enough of a power check on smite.
even during 5E I have seen that house rule. and it worked fine.

Community.
The surveys downvoted Concentration less Hunter's Mark because it was too abusable at low levels.

I think the issue is few gave when they thought it was okay.
yes.

maybe Rangers bonus damage from spells should be a separate instance of features.

have flavor ability:
Tracker:
you have advantage on Perception and Survival checks for tracking and finding creatures.
maybe Survival bonus at 1st level and Perception at 3rd to avoid getting it with dipping one level.

then all you need is Divine favor spell if ranger needs a combat damage boost.

I continue to repeat this.

Hunters Mark has to stay as a spell and be available to Ranger in in all versions of D&D fifth edition.

Your suggestions have to be designed around those limitations.

and I did exactly that.

HM stays as it is for anyone that wants it.

Ranger gets innate ability to have advantage on Perception and Survival checks for finding and tracking creatures.

Divine favor replaces mandatory HM in rangers features.
13th level can increase DF damage to d8, 17th level to d10, 20th level to 2d6.

I wonder if fans would accept Rangers getting to find favor because of the word "divine"

Rangers haven't been tied to the divine since 3e and even then it was more Nature gods only who should in for Mother Nature or Mother Earth.

call it nature's favor then.
bonus damage can be even redesigned to choice of acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison or thunder.
