Ring of the Fey Lord (DM:Atanatotatos, Judge:Lord Sessadore)Up:Lorik, etc.

Haruka yanks on Ironheart's arm and is jerked to a stop as the tree remains rooted to the spot, staring towards Arnamil's home. He rotates slightly and bends his leafy head closer to whisper to her.

[sblock=Haruka]
"Why the hurry? I'd have thought YOU would love the chance to despoil the home of a nature lord. Isn't that what yo do?"

The bark of his face seems to harden, and he snarls, STOP trying to manipulate me. And don't try to wither me either. I've faced worse than you and survived."

He straightens up, notices the others are leaving, and shoulders his axe to trudge after them with an almost human sigh.

That's right, my bad.

You're making your way uphill, on a clearly seldom-walked path in the outskirts of the woods that make the majority of Daunton's interior.

After a few minutes, you reach a small wooden house. The door was left open, and Gord leaves it swinging behind him. In the shadows of sunset, you see dozens of weapons, heavy and light, chainmails, plates of armor, hanging from the walls, or cast aside in corners or on furniture. Through another open door you see another room, a small forge. The man would seem to be a weaponsmith.

So it seems like it's just a house in the woods, nothing special about it or uniquely defensive.

Haruka grins widely. "Ironheart, are you trying to goad me into a fight?" she asks with the bubbly cheerfulness of the little girl. "What I want from Arnamil is more likely to be taken from his hide than his home. I find it much more interesting that you, out of all of us, were so eager to burgle his residence."

The smile fades slightly, and the voice becomes that of a young maiden, sweet and mildly suggestive, "And just we're clear, between the two of us, not only am I the one who hasn't threatened the other, but I am also the one who has never betrayed those who looked to me for protection. Perhaps something to think about, oathbreaker." There is no malice or condemnation in her words. They are presented simply and without judgment.

[sblock=XP]So, apparently I forgot to stick the official stamp on this. I should probably do that ...
Per your requests

SKILL Challenge XP:
Level 2, difficulty 2 = 125*2*2 = 500 xp/5 (same as 2 level 2 standard monsters) = 100 xp each
I approve this XP.

There you guys go. Good luck with Arnamil :)[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I was honestly hoping we could deal with Arnamil without violence. Was that naive?

Anyway, renau1g, are we waiting on someone?[/sblock]

Ironheart looks at Haruka and rumbles deep in his chest. "I am not naive. Did I threaten you? No. I merely warned you. As for betrayal..." He swivels to stare at her unsettlingly as he walks. "What do you know of it beyond what I've let slip myself? A paradox - by my own words, I am an oathbreaker. If I am trustworthy, you must believe the words that damn me; if not, how can you trust me?" He chuckles and moves one, deliberately turning his back to Haruka.

No not waiting, just having to re-jig the final encounter, just in case it goes to violence ;)

I sent it to the judge for his thoughts. Update will likely be Monday though.

Ata had it set up for lvl 1. Now you're 2.6.

After some banter of the group members and the disappointment from the fey guardian spirit, you head back through the Feywild towards Gord the blacksmith's home. Ironheart and Rhole are unfamiliar with the area, but to the other three members of the group, you recall the path back with relative ease. It still takes a few hours as you are forced to retrace your steps, but luckily the creatures of this realm have not decided upon any further actions towards you.

Passing under an arch of large trees, the land around you is now significantly altered from your previous locations. The large, exotic plant life is now replaced by the more common scrub and smaller trees that you are used to seeing around Daunton. It seems like months since you last passed this way, but here you are, back into the Material Realm. Proceeding towards Gord's place you see it in the distance, smoke rising from an exhaust area for the forge.

As you begin moving up the hill towards his house you see a trio of eladrin standing around on the path to the building, looking back in your direction. Two of them are armed with longswords, the other with a longbow. In the branches to the far side you see a female humanoid, with wings attempting to hide in the branches, but doing a terrible job of it.

The one with the bow points to the others and calls out "Come, it's those bringing the ring, quickly, kill them and we can earn his favour!" as she draws an arrow and points it at you. The other eladrin draw their swords and nod.

[sblock=ooc]Oh, what? They couldn't have waited until we were within 10 to 15 squares before trying to kill us? How inconsiderate.

What sort of protection do the trees and rocks (particularly the ones around W6) provide? Any difficult terrain we should know about?[/sblock]
