Sell/Give Away Dem Books! Forked Thread: Did You Buy the First Three 4e Core Books?

I'd love to unload many of my 3.x books (and some older 2.x books). But, I can rarely find anyone willing to pay enough to cover the shipping. I'd bet if I placed my list on this board, I'd get a nibble or two, but that would be about it.

I may do the donate thing. That's a good idea.

Gave my 4e PHB away over a month ago. There was a guy who wanted it who couldn't afford it, so off it went.

Made both of us very happy :)

I saw this several times.

I mean, do people just keep books that they hate?

Surely we have some fellow En Worlders who'd love the books? Or soldiers overseas? Or heck, e-bay no?

I threw away a lot of rpgs before. I had to move in a hurry and where I was going to live was very very small in terms of space and I just couldn't haul my entire collection there. I can't give it to the library because in SF, there are no parking spots for libraries and my back hurts enough as it is. My FLGS at the time no longer took in used books and I didn't have time to eBay so off to the landfill a good deal of them went. I didn't throw out any gems, just some real junk rpgs that I bought on a fluke, but I had a full 40 gallon garbage can of the books.

When I got married and started to trim my holdings again down to just a few bookshelves, then I had more time to sort out what could go to the library which I donated; however, I think the library threw the books away as they never went to the book sell area and they certainly didn't go to stocks.

I don't think I've ever thrown away a book. I'm pretty reluctant to even sell or trade any of my books. This is despite having well over a hundred printed books just for D&D 3.xE alone. I still have my 3.0E Core Rulebooks, for example. They're probably the first books I'd look to offload if I did. I doubt I would get much for them though so I'd probably just donate them to the local library.

I really doubt that my situation is different to most long-time players though. Most roleplayers I know are pack rats when it comes to their roleplaying books.

Ditto here. I have nearly everything I have ever bought in RPG books still on my shelves. I did once sell a small potion of my collection...and bought it back within a year. I just won't get rid of RPG books.
