D&D 5E the right Psionic subclasses

IMO, the latest UA is maybe 1 for 3 on smart subclass choices, but it aims in a useful direction. Many classes from previous editions translate effectively as 5E subclasses. For psionics, I would go with:

Psion, base class - providing the core power list for a psionic focused splatbook, maybe with some of the stuff from the Mystic that isn't broken.

Barbarian, Path of the Wilder - an easy fit.

Cleric, Ardent Domain - do we use 3E mantles or 4E mantles?

Fighter, Psychic Warrior Archetype - The UA version might not be exactly right, but it's a workable starting point.

Monk, Way of the Soulknife - obviously Monk, not Rogue.

Paladin, Oath of the Battlemind - replace Lay on Hands with Battlemind's Demand. Strikes become Smite spells, and of course Mind Spike is a bonus spell known.

Ranger, Soulbow Archetype - even though WotC probably would skip over Ranger.

Rogue, Lurk Archetype - another easy fit

And then there's:

Wizard, School of Psionics - if people want, sure why not.

Warlock, Great Old One Patron is already psionic.

Sorcerer, Illithid Bloodline - or maybe Aboleth

Druid, Circle of the Su-Monster - yeah, I'm running low on psi points.

Bard, College of Emo - empathic effects.
