The Untamed Wilds: Caravan Campaign

San-Bolo draw in close with Saemund to discuss a plan quietly. Sannit says, "I don't think conjuring lights will help us here. Do we charge in to attack all out and hope we can overwhelm them before they call for help, or do we want to try and sneak closer to attack with cunning? It looks like the woman is cooking dinner. Could we poison the meal somehow?"

Bolo says, "They are obviously not expecting us. I would say get as close as we can then attack with all our force. Maybe we can climb into the higher structures without being seen and attack from above as well. This will be dangerous no matter what." Bolo sends as much as she can through the link to Merin and then Sheldon. Do we charge in to attack with force and hope to catch them unprepared and confused or do we sneak in closer?

Turtle keeps watch, keeping his nose to the wind to sniff out trouble.

OOC: What I wouldn't give for a holocaust cloak, a wheelbarrow, some tar pitch and a torch.

Saemund -
"Charging in seems imprudent, since we don't know if they have sentries with bows in the trees. Perhaps we should send one of the animals to scout for guards and find out how many Evipaun there are lurking about."

Tor says, "We should use stealth; this is obviously a small village, and we're only looking for 3 benders. If we start a ruckus with the sentries or just plain tribesmen, we will alert the benders to be on guard. Instead, we should try to sneak around and find the benders themselves. We should NOT use Way to locate them, because they will likely sense it, and then they'd be on to us."

Sheldon and Indigo quietly close in.
"My guess is that to deal with the Benders, force will suit us best, just as cunning works better with the fighters. The girl we released indicated there to be 3 witches, 5 archers, and 5 axemen. We have only taken out 1 pair of sentries. That means there are 4 more pairs.

I have some poison on me from the assassin we eliminated, but I do not think it a good choice. Even if we add it to the food undetected, we do not know how many it will effect or if the witches might detect it

Indigo -
"What concerns me is that just as we can detect others from a distance, it stands to reason that these witches will be able to do the same. It also looks as if that cook is in fact one of those witches."

Day 45: Making Plans, Day 10, Part 2.

GM: +1 XP for Saemund for an appropriate quote from the Princess Bride.

Sheldon nods in agreement.
"We know there to be more sentries, but Saemund is right. We do not know there location."

Indigo offers,
"Using the animals may be a good choice, though the burros are probably not. Myth could quickly circle the village. He being a natural animal to this environment should raise little to no attention. Merin should then be able to discern some information from him."

Sheldon says,
"We did not think to ask the girl about general villagers, but as we have been discussing plans, I have seen no one else about. I hear no sounds of others either. I like Indigo's suggestion to use Myth. He could make a quick cursory run to get us more information."

Merin nods in agreement, "Myth, get the lay of the place, but stay near the edge of camp; avoid being seen if you can; we need them to think that you are scared of people, like any other wild animal. We need to know where the sentries are, and if possible, where the benders are, the people like us, the people who can speak to the earth and to the animals. Go now, and return quickly."

San-Bolo don their camouflage suits, hoping that blending in will give a few extra moments to strike.

Bolo says, "Then the woman calmly turning the spit might be a ruse. She might be an illusion altogether, a more complicated form of the balls of light we used against the sentries. After Myth returns I am willing to sneak closer and see what happens when I put an arrow through her."

Sannit says, "I will follow Bolo until she takes that first shot. If the woman is real, I want to charge in. If this is a trap it would be foolish to rush into it. Turtle will stay with Bolo in case she is attacked from melee, and be our reserve fighter in case we need it."

Turtle watches Myth pad off and quietly wishes his friend luck. The bear knows he's not suited to a stealth mission.

Effectiveness = Mind + Knowledge +...
Myth = 13

[sblock=Understanding]New Words = Spoken/100 * Effectiveness = 72/100 * 13 = 9[/sblock]
Myth looks up at Merin at the mention of his name. When Merin finishes speaking, he quickly departs, running in a wide circle around the small village, moving left to right.

He is gone for about the count of 300 before returning.

Merin asks Myth the following questions, based on what has been seen so far...

1.Did you see any pairs standing around?
1a. If so, where were they?
2. Did you see any lone people, especially female?
2a. If so, where were they?
3. Did anyone notice you?
4. If so, where were they
?

Merin is also open to suggestions from the party as to what further questions to ask of Myth.
