Thirst for power (Finished) (Knight Otu judging)

Assuming the two guards are within 20 feet of eachother, and that the alley is less than 15 feet wide:

Beamer stops for a moment, uncertain what to do about the guards they have stumbled into. He sees no mundane solution to the problem. The scroll in his hand will summon a fog cloud, but with the width of the alley he doesn't think it will give them enough concealment. If only the guards couldn't see us. Beamer feels the magic burn up inside him and a blinding explosion surrounds the guards for a moment. If either looks to not be blinded, or he can't tell, he starts running back the direction they came, hoping to find a different path back toward the middle of the city. If they both appear blinded, Beamer will run toward the guards hoping to get passed before they can see again.

OOC:
Cast glitterdust so the burst hits both guards. DC 15. Take a move action either forward or backward depending on what he can tell about the effectiveness of his spell.
Spells remaining: 0th: 5, 1st: 7, 2nd: 3

Draig looks glances at the guards, concerned by the alarm they have raised. Gripping his Urgosh tightly, he hopes that he will not have cause to use it、and follows Beamer`s lead ready to attack if a fight should be forced on them.

He will also use a charge of the wand of cure light wounds to heal him from his previous injuries and the fall from the wall when he is away from the immediate vicinity of the guards (he`s currently down 5 hit points)

with a 'Bamf!' a cloud of glowing confetty engulfs both guards; the one with the horn screams "My eyes!" and the other one dives for cover shouting "Holy gods!".

Turning on their heels, the duo runs back and stumbles upon a man, who removes his beard. "It´s me, Nordal." says, and in fact you recognize him. "Follow me!"

Minutes later you find yourselves in an abandoned and overgrown garden, crawling through a narrow opening normally covered with a rusty grate. It leads to a corridor which in turn opens into a basement of some sort, except that if has windows. Of course only earth, roots and leaking water can be seen through them: you´re underground.

"Soil here isn´t too solid" explains Nordal. "I think this whole place was the end of a river, many years ago. The buildings sink, and people build on top of those. You can find many hideouts like this scattered though the city."

A short while after, guided by Loui, Banion joins the party.

"What did you do? The whole guard is looking for you three" inquires Nordal.

ooc: I didn´t think a little fast forwarding like this was too much, since it seemed to be in line with the tone of your posts. Also I think Draig´s urgosh never left it´s Haversack; he used 1 wand charge and is totally healed. Don´t hesitate to make your own rolls, using invisible castle, for things like this.

"Boy am I glad to see you, Nordal," says Beamer once they are settled. "We went to visit Artea after not finding much at the guard house. I'm sure Idrag was not please about us killing those arsonists and I don't think seeing Artea made him any happier, but she did tell us that Idrag is having an important meeting at Kaplov's warehouse. We were trying to stake it out when we were spotted and had to run. No offense, but this town of yours doesn't have enough little folk around. We three might as well be wearing a glowing sign."

OOC: The fast forwarding is great by me. Beamer just wanted to find a place to hole up until sundown.

"Something must be going on" says Nordal, very serious. "I don´t know why, but Idrag met his lieutenants this morning."

"Why do you think it´s a meeting?" asks Nordal suddendly

ooc: Fast forwarding is welcome.

Banion looks over Nordal.

He's the one who met with Beamer, Draig and Azaroth earlier, isn't he?

He waits for Beamer to answer first before putting forward his own theories.

"The was a ship unloading a whole bunch of cargo into one of Kaplov's warehouses. I'd be willing to bet the meeting has to do with something in the cargo. Weapons maybe? Or maybe something specific?"

"Just seems strange" says Nordal. "It may be a meeting indeed, but nothing of what Artea said suggest that to me. If anything it may have somethng to be with the other meeting at the citadel. I´d be careful if I was you."

"I´ll leave and try to find out something more"

ooc: I´m ready to continue as soon you also are. Tell me how much time do you want to stay, if banion wants to reveal himself to Nordal, and what are your plans now to travel through the city and spy on whatever Idrag wants to do.

Banion speaks quietly from the shadows.

"What do you know of Idrag's ambitions? Does he want to take over this town, or replace some powerull people with his flunkies? Is it all about money, or power, or something else? Is he enough of a fool to deal with demons, or would assassins or wizards be more his style?"
