Thirst for power (Finished) (Knight Otu judging)

Round nine

The three remaining enemies charge. The weakened one moves directly towards Draig, but receives a mindblade to the leg as he run. Despite the wound, he’s able to bash the dwarf in the chest, though the chainmail stops the worst of the blow. The other two go directly for Beamer, just after he stopped reading a scroll. Their attacks bash against the invisible barriers that surround the halfling without any harm.

[ooc: Banion throws his mindblade and scores a good hit.

Beamer draws and reads his scroll of Shield

Draig prepares for battle, finally wielding his urgosh again

The wounded and weakened assailant charges Draig and hits (2 damage). The other two charge Beamer but are unable to hit.

Party status: Beamer 13 damage, Banion 22 damage, Draig 11 damage

The adrenaline keeps Draig's mind fast and focussed, as he swings the Urgosh at the half-orc, one end then the other, hoping to bring him down.

OOC: Attack 1: To hit: 1d20+4 = 1; Damage: 1d8+5 = 11

Attack 2: To hit: 1d20+4 = 16; Damage: 1d8+3 = 8

ooc: IIRC Slagmortar had to be back already, so we were waiting for him. In any case, I'll post tomorrow. I'd apreciate some suggestion about Beamer's action from any of you.

ooc: If I understand things correctly, Beamer got out his scroll of shield last round. Taking a 5' step back and casting the spell would probably be a good next action. If he's allready done that, 5' step and magic missile at the most wounded active bad guy.

Edit: On rereading, it says he read the scroll. Somehow, I had missread that as "readied" the scroll.

OOC: Just got back last night and have been catching up at work. Thanks for running things while I was gone. Looks like we did pretty well all things considered. Patlin's suggested action is just what Beamer would do.

IC: Beamer steps back, again chanting the words to his magic missle spell.

Round ten

As the man that charged Draig retires his shortsword, he realizes he has the dwarf’s spear deeply stuck on his belly. He drops without a word.

Meanwhile the two remaining attackers are surrounding Beamer and bash against his invisible protections, growing frustrated with each second. This kind of things used to work a lot better in the past. Undaunted, the small halfling frees another volley of darts that get intercepted by their target’s arm. Seeing his opportunity to strike the wouded and distracted enemy, Banion throws his mindblade again, but it bounces harmlessly on the attacker’s armor.

[ooc: Banion throws again the mindblade, but doesn’t hit

Draig kills his opponent with the spear end of the urgosh

Beamer wounds one of his opponents with Magic Missile

They manoeuvre to flank Beamer easily, since he doesn’t have a weapon in hand and can’t make AoOs. One of them almost hits. Beamer is now flanked and can’t avoid AoOs with just a 5 foot step.

Party status: Beamer 13 damage, Banion 22 damage, Draig 11 damage

Banion’s spells: 0:5 1:0 2:1]

Pushing the body off the spear end of his Urgosh, Draig looks up to see Beamer in trouble. Running to his aid he swings the Urgosh around to bring it to bear on the closest assailant.

ooc: I'm not sure if Draig can charge or 5ft step or neither. If he can take a 5ft step then he'll do that to full attack. If he can't 5ft but can charge he'll do so, but I've not included the +2 to hit.

Urgosh Attack #1: 1d20+4 = 20; Damage: 1d8+5 = 6

Urgosh Attack #2: 1d20+4 = 17; Damage: 1d8+3 = 6

If he only got a single attack then the stats are slightly different (as he's wielding double handed not TWF) and should be Attack: 22; Damage 7

Beamer draws his tiny dagger and moves opposite Draig while making a few tenative pokes, hoping to distract the enemy at least a little. While maintaining his defenses, he tries a simple spell to damage the attacker.

OOC: Draw dagger and move to flank with Draig. If Draig dropped one opponent, 5 foot step away from the other attacker instead. Cast acid splash, defensively if threatened.
concentration (1d20+8=12)
If threatened, he loses his spell, but if not
acid splash (1d20+8=18, 1d3+1=2)
Spells remaining:
