Thirst for power (Finished) (Knight Otu judging)

Round eleven

Beamer’s force protections continue stopping his enemy’s weapons, making musical metallic weapons every time they hit the mage armor and shield. Despite being still unharmed from them, it’s difficult for the sorcerer to cast anything, and when he tries to conjure a ball of acid he has to dodge unexpectedly, wasting the energy in useless sparks. The party doesn’t hesitate to follow with attacks on their own: Banion’s mindblade and Draig’s Urgosh bounce again on a chainmail, but draig’s weapon is heavy enough to break something with it’s greater weight. The attacker grunts in pain.

[ooc: Banion’s mindblade fails again.

Beamer draws his dagger and tries to cast an spell, but can’t make his concentration roll

Draig charges the already wounded remaining foe, flanking with Beamer and hitting, but doesn’t drop the foe.

They sidestep and attack Beamer again, with the same lack of result

Party status: Beamer 13 damage, Banion 22 damage, Draig 11 damage]

Banion forms a new mindblade, and throws again.

ooc: IC seems to be down at the moment, but Banion's doing the same action as he did last round. All the modifiers are the same as a few posts up.

Beamer steps nearer Draig to try to get away from these damned rogues. He tries another acid splash aimed at the injured rogue while maintain his ability to dodge. This time he succeeds and the ball of acid flies from his hand.

OOC: Diagonal 5 foot step so for example if he was formerly straight west of the opponent between he and Draig then he is now straight north. If he is being flanked diagonally, he takes a five step perpendicular and is out of threat of both rogues.

Rounds Twelve and Thirteen

Taking this time some time to aim, Banion throws his glowing mindblade twice, sewing one of the remaining thugs to the wall for a moment –until the blade disappears- and wounding the remaining one in the leg. Beamer contributes with a small orb of acid the scares the remaining foe’s face. Distracted by the ranged attacks, he’s unable to properly stop Draig’s urgosh: the dwarf sinks the axe end in his side, dropping him. In a final act of spite, the last foe suddenly incorporates and sinks the left shortsword on Draig’s boot, but he’s too weak to do anything more than a mere scratch and immediately after that he falls unconscious.

Panting, you take a moment to stop and suddenly realize how much your wounds hurt. Around you lights start to shine and curious people peek from distant windows. In Koplov’s warehouse, the racket also ends, and fire grows.

[ooc: Since at the end of round twelve only one enemy was left and the combat started to become somewhat repetitive, I took the liberty to roll two combat rounds in one post, rolling for you (since I saw little chance of your actions changing)

Round twelve:

Banion’s mindblade hits this time, downing the wounded thug .

Beamer moves 5 feet and cast his spell, doing very minor damage to the last enemy.

Draig advances and attacks the last foe, without being able to hit.

Your last enemy attacks Draig twice, hitting with the secondary attack (2 damage, boo) and moves back 5 feet

Round thirteen:

Banion charges the mindblade and throws it again, scoring a good hit

Draig advances 5 feet and kills the last enemy.

Party status: Beamer 13 damage, Banion 22 damage, Draig 13 damage

Also: The last foe’s weapons are of evident high quality. Except the guy with the wand, whom you’ve not seen before, everyone else covered his face with back clothes.]

ooc: Patlin, since Banion is short a couple hundred XP short of levelling, and there’s a good chance of having an opportunity of awarding XP shortly after this fight you may want level Banion and e-mail a judge for approval. You won’t actually level until XP are actually awarded, but that will save time. Point the judges to this post if it’s necessary.

The adrenaline flowing through Draig's veins slows and he looks at the scene."God that hurts..." he mutters, his hand holding the most recent wound.

"We should get the bodies off the street" he says to his friends. Turning he sees the glow from the warehouse... "Oh boy..." he mutters at the sight of the fire.

OOC: Are any of the guards (on either side) still alive? Draig's keen to keep them alive (albeit unarmed and hopefully tied up) if possible. Also how big is the fire - could we realistically put it out or is it too big for that?

Beamers shoulders slump as the final attacker hits the ground. He feels as though he fell into a fire pit ... and then took the liberty of rolling around for awhile just for kicks. He would really like to get his hands on that wand. He gingerly moves over to the fallen wizard, searching his body and also checking for signs of life. If he is still alive, Beamer calls Draig over and says, "We should keep him. He might know what's going on. Let's get out of here as soon as possible." While searching the body, Beamer lets Louie out to keep an eye on the situation around and warn him if anyone is approaching.

OOC: I'll let the others note the weapon quality or not as that's definitely not Beamer's specialty.

"Beamer, grab that wand. The command word was 'ignite.' Can you do that really loud 'Fire, fire' thing again? Draig, we need some healing, their might be a second wave any moment now. I know its expensive, but we better use that wand."

As Banion calls these things out, he grabs up any of the stray weapons of the fallen that he can reach and quickly stores them in his haversack, especially the expensive looking ones. Any other loose items that might be of value go the same way. All the while, he's looking about for that second wave.

ooc: Banion submitted for level 4.

"Good idea," Beamer says to Banion. He takes a moment to cast a ghost sound 20 feet up in the air. The sound of a 16 member chorus shouting "Fire!" over and over fills the air.
