Thirst for power (Finished) (Knight Otu judging)

The party lingers at the scene of the battle while Draig uses the wand to heal them. They watch carefully, but no further enemy comes, and some citizens start to arrive at the scee of the battle, attracted by the now extinguished cries of "fire!".

Suddendly the sound of galloping horses pulling a wagon is heard, moving north, away from your position. Except for the rumor of fire, nothing is heard.

Having healed the party, Draig looks around at the scene. "Might be time we left, and asked some questions of these two," he says, pointing to the two city guards who are unconcious but still alive.

"Are you going to be OK? Have you got any idea why the city guard would assault the warehouse" Draig asks of the warehouse guard he has revived.

Since everyone now seems ready to go, Beamer seconds the notion of getting somewhere to rest. "I can only manage a couple more spells today. That fight took a lot out of me."

Banion, hearing the galloping horses and knowing his own inability to move with much speed in a world too big for him, grinds his teeth with frustration.

"Sounds like they got away. Let's hope these guys can be connected to their boss. How do we get the bodies and the prisoners to our employers without fighting our way through the whole city guard? And what was it that they were after here? Did they steal something, or is it all about arson?"

Banion will take a quick look to at least try to see the retreating foes, for any information that will provide.

"Hey," Banion turn to the security guard. "Do you recognize these people or know why they assaulted you?"

(ooc: the guard you found alive was unconscious, but stabilized, so you dind't have to use a wand charge to save his life, but will have to if you want to revive him. I'll assume you've used the charge, so be sure to take note of it)

The guard awakes gasping for air and very confused. "What, how!" is the only thing he's able to utter for a few seconds, before turning to you with blurry eyes. "The guard? I don't know, one of us got a magic message from someone telling him... we weren't sure, Koplov just told us to not open the door for anyone. They had to be after the cargo in the warehouse, surely."

"I don't recognize them with the masks, except that... oh,gods! it's truly him, Nairb!" says pointing at the mage.

"OK, Calm down," says Draig, his patience thin at the best of times, "Firstly, what was the cargo in the warehouse. And secondly, what do you know of Nairb?"

ooc: Another charge crossed off. I thought this was the guard who I healed and who threw up? Ah well. On another note, Nairb is still alive, right?

ooc: Yes, the mage's breathing.

"Nairb? He's Etan Cremon's personal wizard, of course." As he looks at you he can tell you don't recognize this name too. "Etan, the council member!"

"Let's walk while we talk, I'd like to get out of here. Draig, can you grab Mr. Nairb and we can be on our way?" Turning back to the guard, "I sent the message warning of the impending attack. We did our best to help fight them off, but I fear some of your fellow men did not make it. We want to figure out what is going on here. It would be a great help to us if you could tell us what cargo these men were after? From the sounds we heard, I think we were unable to prevent them from taking it."

"I'm dangerously unknowledgable about local politics, I'm afraid. Is this one council member attacking another? We know the guard was involved in the attack, but this seems to muddy the waters a bit...."
