[WoT Adventure] Turn 3

Jain Had;in

Were could he have bloody well gone? Strange......

"Shalimar is right, we can't very well break in to either of these places, just to see if someone we can't really identafy, broke in first."

"We should just go back to the Inn and worry about this later. Maybe we were seeing things, or maybe it was just a coinciedince. If someone is fallowing us, sooner or later they will slip up and we'll get them."
.
I hope i'm right and this guy does slip up later, otherwise it could be bad for us.

Pedron smiles his twisted smile. It's never a matter of whether you can get in, it's a matter of how badly you want in. Jain makes an important point, though--these folks would never break into someone's home without a better reason. Pedron's had worse reasons before, so he'd be game if they really wanted through the door, but he's not going in by himself. Maybe Ashrem is seeing things.

"Ashrem, perhaps you should tell us what you saw," Pedron says. "There was no one here when I arrived, and Shalimar never saw anyone. But if someone really has been following us, we might have seen him before, and maybe we'll remember something. At the very least, we'll recognize him if we see him again."

Ashrem took one last look around the alley and started back toward the street in disgust. There had been someone there. I know it.

He looked at the others. “I didn’t get a good look. Maybe it was nothing. Just keep yours eyes open. I find it hard to believe it was nothing when Jain saw someone earlier.” After a moment he added, “Everyone be careful. I don’t know what we’ve gotten into, but if someone is fallowing us, then it’s become personal.”

With that he pulled his coat over his sword and began making his way back to the inn. I’m not satisfied. Where did the bloody man go? Maybe I should come back tonight and check it out. Maybe Pedron will come with me, I get the impression that he might be useful.

Pedron lurks around

Even if everyone else is going back, I'm staying a bit longer. Pedron says, "Go ahead. I'll catch up with you at the Inn."

Pedron gives some thought to trying the locks once the others are gone, but he quickly abandons that idea. The last thing he wants to do is walk into an ambush, especially alone. Instead, he'll try to find someplace where he can watch the two buildings and the alley in between without being too conspicuous, a place where he can watch for anyone suspicious. What are these buildings, anyway?

A quick message for our missing noble

Some time after Tomas returned to the inn (but before anyone was back from looking at Logain), the woman who had accompanied Sersei and Shalimar when they arrived returned to the inn. She looks around the common room, then concentrates for a second.

<Lila weaves Trace, to get some idea of where Shalimar and Sirsei are.>

I hope Elaida has some idea of what Trollocs in Caemlyn means. Light, that woman is difficult to deal with. If I had been any later, I wouldn't have been able to see them until after they viewed Logain. At least I managed to get her to tell me what she knew of the man. Six years too old, and definitely born in Ghealdan. With luck, she did not realize why I asked.

It wasn't until she had stood in one place, looking off into space aimlessly for a few seconds, that she walked over by Tomas.

Lord Tomas looked up at the woman approaching. The way my luck is running, this one probably thinks she's Aes Sedai also. Damnable witches. "Is there something I can do for you, miLady?"

"You saw what Sirsei and Shalimar did last night." She said, quietly.

Yes, bring *that* distatesful subject up in front of a Tairen. Excellent way to begin a conversation. These Andorans are becomming positively boorish. Covering any discomfort with easy practice, Lord Tomas essays a half smile and speaks in an indulgent air, "Last night? Hmm..can't say as I had the pleasure of their company in my rooms last night. Why? Did they do something naughty? I bet it was the Domani, she's bound to get herself into trouble flirting with weak-willed commoners."

"You know very well what I mean." She said. "There are those in Caemlyn who would cause trouble for them, if they knew what they were. I would think a Tairen lord would be one of them, if he weren't as wrapped up in events as they were. The High Lords are not fond of connections with people like them, no matter what they are."

Lord Tomas' expression turns sour. "So does that mean you are going to threaten me with your special ability too? Claim that teaching me a 'lesson' is worth throwing away your affiliation with the Tower? Bah, you are all the same. Pushing people around for your own ends. No accountability."
