New for EN5ider patrons! Three vile 5E encounters (The Summoning at CR 5, The Poisoning at CR 10, and The Immolation at CR 15) are designed to challenge your PCs with climactic rituals described round-by-round. By Jon Sawatsky; illustrated by Ellis Goodson. Become a patron now and immediately get access to over 100 supplements and adventures for your 5E game.
These pages, kindly sent along by Worldscape writer (and Paizo publisher) Erik Mona come straight from this month's upcoming Pathfinder Worldscape comic book - the genre mashing series which will have Pathfinder characters meeting pulp heroes such as Red Sonja, Tarzan, John Carter and more (complete with game stats!) Erik tells me that this page show "Valeros’s encounter with a White Ape of Barsoom as well as the first comics appearance of the lamia matriarch Xanesha, the Rise of the Runelords NPC responsible for more Pathfinder PC deaths than probably anyone else." You will be able to get the first issue on Wednesday, 19th October.
Trapdoor Technology's Playbook software currently puts Pathfinder management on your iPad. Up until now, it has been iOS only, but they are now Kickstarting a version for Android tablets. For those not familiar, Playbook is a range of digital tools - rules library, character sheet, Paizo adventures, etc. and is subscription-based (the Kickstarter offers a year for $19). Other features designated as stretch goals include party messaging, sound effects from Syrinscape, and more.
Fantasy Grounds has sent along its latest usage stat for 2016, showing which games folks are playing on its platform. As usual, 5E is out way ahead with a whopping 57% share, followed by Pathfinder. Then come Savage Worlds and D&D 3.5, followed by D&D 4E - essentially several versions of D&D, plus Savage Worlds hold the top five spots. Other notable contenders include FFG's Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu, Iron Kingdows, and Rolemaster Classic. In the below charts, "Core RPG" is Fantasy Ground's default core module which allows you to play a range of different games, rather than one of the specific packages.
Kobold Press' latest Kickstarter is for D&D 5E and for Pathfinder, and is a 120-page book detailing a dozen or so demonic cults from their Midgard setting (although designed to work with others). You get the PDF for $17, or the print version for $29. For each cult, you also get sample cultists at a range of CRs, new monsters, and cult-specific magic. Thematically, there are Egyptian-themed and Nordic-themed cults as well as various cults created for Kobold Press' Southlands. Click on that charming chap below to jump straight there!
I've compiled all the information we know so far about Paizo's upcoming Starfinder RPG, which launches next year; it was announced in May, but my coverage has been lost in the recent crash. The game is based on the Pathfinder rules, and is broadly compatible but may require some "minimal" conversion. It's science-fantasy standalone game which crosses magic with technology (it sounds very similar to Dragonstar for those who remember that!)
This issue of EN5ider embraces the dark side, with character options for evil characters. These five Ritual Feats (Ancestral Sacrifice, Auromancy, Master of Rituals, and Ritualistic Slaughterer) are accompanied by advice on running an evil game. This article works well both as a standalone, and as a companion to EN5ider's recent Diabolist class and its followup, Conjured Horrors. By Mike Myler; illustrated by Sade. Become a patron now and get 'em all!
Paizo has just announced new softcover pocket editions for the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and the first Bestiary. They have the same page count and content, but are just 6.5 inches by 8.4 inches (the type and images are smaller, and the paper is thinner). The price is smaller, too - $24.99 for the core rules and $19.99 for the Bestiary. You can get 'em direct from Paizo - click on the images below!
A brand new 5E adventure for EN5ider Patrons! What if everything the PCs encountered here was a lie? The village in peril, the wizard’s tower, and the promise of an ancient treasure; all of it set up and presented to the PCs like a trail of breadcrumbs. All of it eventually leading to their deaths, orchestrated by a powerful manipulator: a literal master of dungeons. By Kiel Chenier, based on a concept by Paul Padmore; Illustrated by Mel Tillery; cartography by Kiel Chenier and Michael McCarthy.
Living Arcanis has been around since the d20 days, and has run over 150 adventures. Today, they're returning for D&D 5th Edition with the Living Arcanis 5E campaign - and it includes a free 64-page primer chock full of new content. You can download it right here (just click on the pretty picture below). Arcanis is very "Ancient Rome" in feel. "The campaign begins today, with the release of four Introductory adventures, suitable for 1st level characters. In October, the next four Introductory adventures will be released, with the thirteen adventure story arc entitled, “The Coming of the Destroyer” debuting through May 2017."
New for EN5ider patrons! We begin our second hundred supplements with another new class - the Diabolist! Diabolists deal with forbidden secrets and dark entities, grasping for power through dark pacts. While they have things in common with necromancers and warlocks, diabolists are something entirely more... diabolical! Also included are two Dark Paths - the Demonic path and the Devilish path. And keep an eye out for next week, when Mike Myler introduces some conjured horrors, such as the accuser devil, contract devil, and more! Illustrated by Phil Stone. This is EN5ider's 6th full class.
The second act of the critically acclaimed ZEITGEIST: The Gears of Revolution Adventure Path is now compiled into a gorgeous book! At 400 pages, these four adventures are the second act of the steam and steel campaign for the Pathfinder RPG. These four adventures witness your party - members of the Royal Homeland Constabulary - rise from 9th to 15th level as they thwart the worldwide machinations of a conspiracy known as the Obscurati. Take a step away from traditional fantasy, and play a part in shaping the coming age!

Adopt Your Secret Identity With Pathfinder's ULTIMATE INTRIGUE

Ultimate Intrigue, the latest Pathfinder RPG hardcover rulebook, has been released. The book contains 256 pages of spells, feats, archetypes, new rules, and the new vigilante class which allows characters to adopt a secret identity. The book had an open playtest, so many folks are already familiar with and using the material. "Behind the Scenes of Heroic Battles and Magical Realms Lies a Seething Underbelly of Danger and Deception in Ultimate Intrigue"
Now that Curse of Strahd has been out for a while and everybody has had time to digest it, I thought it might be fun to do a poll on which of the four adventures released by WotC for D&D 5th Edition so far you like the best. Looking at EN World's reviews section, Curse of Strahd is currently trending at 90%, Out of the Abyss at 83.5%, Princes of the Apocalypse at 90%, and the two Tyranny of Dragons adventures at 52.5% and 75% respectively. I've divided the poll into the four main "storylines", and slipped in Lost Mine of Phandelver from the starter set, too - just pick your favourite! Feel free to explain your choice in the comments, of course.

Check Out DRIZZT DO'URDEN'S 5E Character Sheet!

Here's a look at the character sheet of one Mr. D. Do'Urden. Chris Perkins played the character during the latest Pax East Acquisitions Inc. live game. Eagle-eyed readers might spot that Drizzt is only 8th level here; Perkins has a decent explanation for why that is: "I didn't feel it was appropriate to bring a 15th-level character to an 8th-level party." When asked what makes Drizzt so iconic, he replied "Because he's a super ninja with two magic scimitars and a magic cat! Rawr!" That last sentence is not true; what he actually said was "He puts the welfare of others before himself. He helps those who need help, including those who hate and fear him."
Likely old news to some, but straight from the horse's mouth (for values of "horse" which equal "WotC") -- "In this special PAX East live D&D game, we switched things up a bit by having Chris Perkins play while Mike Krahulik and Patrick Rothfuss take a turn in the Dungeon Master's chair! After returning from the Underdark, the heroes of Acquisitions Incorporated find themselves with some free time on their hands, and we take a closer look at what goes on in the office and in their home lives. You can download Mike and Patrick's adventures for free right now from the Dungeon Masters Guild!"
