OOC: That sounds like a fun way to find them... for the DM. lol

Cyan's darkvision let's her see ahead of the dim light from the staff, that she uses to check for anything that might trip her up. Carefully moving forward looking where she puts her feet and then looking ahead the dragonborn leads the group about forty feet down the large opening.

*flutter* *flutter*

Looking up quickly Cyan catches what looks like a bat flying up from the ground, thirty feet away, towards the rough ceiling. Looking back at the ground along where it came from she sees the form of a small humaniod lying on the ground, unmoving.

Near the form is a toy wooden sword.

OOC: Perception checks please, along with any actions you wish to take.

Niklos rushes forward towards the prone form, passing by everyone else. He sees the female human child lying on her back with what looks like multiple mosquito bites on her neck and face. Then the ceiling starts to buzz and the flapping of leathery wings echoes throughout the cavern.

The halfling puts his body protectively over the girls and the creatures fly by them both. This close he can feel the live beat of her heart, but it is feeble.

OOC: Niklos and Terry get to go first. Cyan will get her ready action. Then the stirges will go. AC 14, HP 2 Then the whole group is up. (Terry and Niklos too.) Talin is hidden at the moment.

Invoking a holy phrase, Terry enchants her quarterstaff (Shillelagh, bonus action) and rushes forward to help Niklos. She swings at the nearest stirge...
