I saw that one coming from a mile away, but I was still thrilled to see it happen.
Ditto. When it was stated that Division was sending somebody to replace Erin, I immediately thought "It's gonna be Michelle."

It was a predictable twist, but a nice one nonetheless. Looking forward to next week's episode.

Another thing I noticed: the evil employee of the Defense Contractor who suggested detonating the EMP also played the leader of the Praetorian Guard in Gladiator. :)

Am I the only one who thinks that Raines will end up betraying Jack at some crucial point in the next 12 hours. I kind of got the chills when Jack said to him: "You do what you have to do."

I was ok with this episode, but it wasn't spectacular. It really felt contrived. "Well we stopped the nuclear meltdown, what's next? How bout an EMP pulse?"

It was saved for me by Soulpatch taking command and then Michelle being reintroduced. Cool stuff.

Last night's episode SUCKED. I love 24, really I do, but this is just becoming stupidly contrived. Yeah, I know, it's always been contrived, but in a smart and fun way. This episode was just STUPID.

What does the CEO of a defense contractor do when he's done something illegal and gotten caught? Not just been sloppy and not watched his employees, like in this episode; the dialogue made it clear that he wasn't actually part of the plot. When they get caught doing something bad, they call in the lawyers. Masses of lawyers. The lawyers start hacking away at the government. The lawyers make sure charges are never pressed on the CEO. Sure, a couple people in middle management make get sacrificed, but that's what middle management is for.

CEOs of US government defense contractors do not try to kill federal agents. Ever. That was just retarded.

I won't stop watching the show over this, but it's on probation. If they pull another idiotic plot "twist" like that, they are losing me as a viewer, though...

Yeah, I have to admit I couldn't figure out what was going on there either. What were they trying to hide that the government didn't already know? And why decide that joining the ranks of the terrorists was the way to do the hiding? As a plot twist, it was very weak.

I have to admit though, I'm willing to forgive the show alot for bringing Michelle back. And to have Michelle and Tony BOTH when I was afraid I wouldn't see EITHER makes me very happy.

On the other hand, there seem to be people - like CEOs - that kill their wives because they don´t want to pay the divorce, even if they do have money (especially if they do have money).
Face it, sometimes people do stupid things.

What I think is possible is that the two security guys (or what they were) were more involved then they wanted to admit, or that they feared they would be the middle management that would have to take the fall. (Which is quite possible, since this was a severe security breach ...)
And the CEO was a bit... overwhelmed by the whole situation. Hey, there was an armed man from CTU in his building - not just a friendly police officer wanting to ask a few questions...

It´s still a bit weak, I must admit. But I was able to take it.

yeah, I was pretty skeptical about the whole 'big evil corporation' thing... just how the hell do they think they would hide it, when the govt. already knows they're involved? So, is Driscoll out of the series? Or do you think she'll pop up later.
And just what do you suppose Marwan (?) is planning to do on an Air Force base?
