Krawlinstar's divine power gives you strength to shrug off wounds that would normally hamper you and you make a determined effort to press on. Lia investigates the jets and finds that they can be disarmed by a hidden panel on the wall. With skillful expertise, she operates the arcane mechanism within to ensure the jets will allow you to pass.
GM: | Decide whether you want the jets to delay for one round or be permanently disarmed. Either way, I assume you all scamper into the office.
You earn 50 XP for getting past the trap. That should put you at 875/1,000.
Darok's office is an extravagant affair. In the center of the room is a mahogany desk with gold trim carved to look like serpentine creatures, a kind of drake you imagine. Atop the desk is a mess of papers. Someone left this room in a hurry and clearly snatched a few things along the way. But where this person went is anyone's guess. A quick search (passive Perception) of the desk reveals very little information. You find a lot of company memos, company policies, personnel files (some containing quite detailed notes which you don't have time to go through). However of great interest is a small trap door beneath the desk which, though hidden, you notice with your keen skill. Hidden within is a black bag of silk with a yellow tassel around it, a pair of vials labeled "healing," and some coins. Altogether they number 100 gp. Whoever left this room was in too much of a hurry to take this treasure. Opening the silk bag reveals a marvelous treasure. A silver holy symbol of Pelor gilded in copper filigree and platinum lining. It clearly radiates magic.
Aside from some furniture, there is also a bookcase in the room which contains a number of scrolls, dockets, and ledgers, as well as a few pieces of literature. The literary works might be worth something to the right collector. As for the rest of it, it appears to pertain to the business dealings of the Silver Mantle Company. Finally, you come across something interesting. A large tome has been hollowed out, but the inside is empty. You clearly suspect something of importance was recently stored here, judging by the way the tome appeared hastily placed back on the shelf.
GM: | You may use Perception to actively search the room or perform other actions as you see fit. Darok is nowhere to be seen and there are no other occupants in the room that you can see.
