Boston EN World game a great success! Photo on p. 9!

Our babysitter just canceled out on us. Not really her fault - her employer is making her go to training that day. But don't count us out yet, as I'm going to try the relatives route as an alternative. I'll keep you posted.

Less than 1 week to go!

@Umbran: I was sorting through my Shadowrun stuff and realized it's measured in feet, not number of book..egads! Would it be any help to bring stuff (I have a folders for many different subjects: drones, errata, decking, etc. for example) or will it over-complicate things? If it's a First Run kind of thing, it's probably not needed.

We're looking forward to it. I'm even working on the fudge that I promised Guedo for going early. Figured as long as I'm making it, I might as well bring enough for everyone.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'll end up bringing more food than dice, and that's saying something.

Green Bay by way of Manitowoc actually. Bubbler is used all over Wisconsin. The day care I was a teacher at had all the things in the room labeled, and on the water fountain it said, "Bubbler."

But yes, it is pretty much traditional to bring food when going to someone's place for an event. Glad you brought it up, I was wondering where the urge to try and feed everyone was coming from. :)

If you're planning on playing in my Septentrionalis game, bring your 3.5e D&D PHB and your most outrageous accent -- French, Boston or otherwise. The character sheets are ready to go, and I'll have minis and scenics on hand. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the proceedings.

Have at you, the devil take the hindmost, etc.

Yours,

Batting zero for two on the relatives route. Kris says that worst-case-scenario she'll stay home with the kids and let me go, but I'd have a lot more fun is she is along too. My mother has been away in Texas, and gets back tonight so I'll hit her up tomorrow for babysitting. I'll keep you posted.

C'mon, Jon, cast "Locate Sitter!" I hope you can find someone. I'm really looking forward to seeing you two.

I saw Umbran and Chronosome, and those guys are good to go (with special Savage Species miniatures by Gospog!) This will be tremendous fun.

Thanks for the offer, but it won't be necessary. As a DM, I don't run a game using rules with which I'm not familiar. So, either I've already got the book, or I'm not using it.

In addition, I'm not at all guaranteed that everyone on the list has ever played Shadowrun before. Given that, and the fact that this is a one-shot, four hour game, I'm not going to be getting bogged down with lots of the pickayune details of decking and rigging. In this case, if I have to stop and look it up in a book, it's too damned slow. I want the Shadowrunners to be frustrated and angry about things in-game, I don't want the players to be so about how complicated the GM is making the rules :)
