Super excited for Spelljammer! I start running my Sigil campaign (in a heavily homebrewed version of the City of Doors) this Friday, and was already thinking about giving players an option to leave the city on a Spelljammer at some point, so this is perfect timing! A little bummed by the page count, but as long as it's packed with goodness I'll be happy.

Don't personally have any interest in Dragonlance, but I'm intrigued by the battle box.

I honestly think their plan is to scrap the crystal sphere idea and have Wildspace be like, maybe a Sub-region of the astral.

While I’m not 100% okay with this change, it kinda DOES remove the old concern of “why don’t groundlings know about Spelljammer culture and why don’t spacers just dominate the groundling trade market?” if the ships rarely interact with prime worlds outside of the occasional dimension hopping nautolid incursions.
From both the monster description and the product page on the Wizards website, it seems that Wildspace and the Astral are separate things. It's not "explore the Astral Sea and its subregion Wildspace" but "explore the Astral Sea and Wildspace". They are apparently seperate, and in equal footing with each other.

And in any case, if Wildspace were part of the Astral, then the entire Material Plane would be part of the Astral (as each planet is within Wildspace, which would be within the Astral). That would be a bit messy to say the least.

I think it is absolutely fair to criticize a $20 price increase, that's a 40% price hike. I get inflation exists, but this is a major jump in price.

If the books totaled 300+ pages or more, I could maybe defend it. But less than the Ravenloft book? Bad taste to me.
80% increase on digital, going from 30 to 50.

And yeah, for a pathetic number of pages. And the usual lower-tier art too, adding insult to injury.

Also: in regards to Dragons of Stormwreck, upon looking at one of the Target website preview pictures for it, something just hit me: Why are the 80's Cartoon DND kids seen in it on both the box cover art and the inside portion with two others? Because..........................

The Pre-gen charcters: Are going to be the DND 80's Cartoon main characters. So the Pre-Gen Ranger is gonna be Hank, the Monk/"Acrobat" Pre-Gen is gonna be Diana, etc, etc, etc, etc. I just have a feeling that is how they are gonna be.

In fact, if you look closely in the one target pic for the starter set, one of the Pre-gen characters is a "Paladin." (The 4th Image that shows the book, a page from the set, and the character sheets for one of the pregens.)

Amazon listing isn’t live in the US. 192 pages for how much? If it’s $50 still that’s great but if they upped the cost to compensate not sure how I feel?

My guess is that the whole slipcase multipack format is as much about allowing them to sell a major release at more than a $50 MSRP as anything else. The $50 price point established for their standard hardcovers releases was based on what made sense in 2014 dollars, for equivalent profit it should be a little over $60 in 2022 money. I think they decided to kick price increases on standard hardcovers down the road to the 2024 refresh to avoid upsetting regular customers but that they are going to create more alternative releases at moderately higher price points to make up for that.

And as I write this I see the listing is now live, and $69.99.
