Question,

Primus will be able to see the dragon next round. Instead of using my strongest powers, I can use Evo Whip, which only costs 3 points. It makes it so the only thing the dragon can do on its turn is dodge, hide or dash. It would keep it from attacking at least.

Or I can do guaranteed damage. It’s like Magic Missiles, but does 6d8 of psychic damage, no save. Not huge, but no save and no other effects.

Those would be taking a lot of my points, though. I could do 2 ego whips for one Psionic Blast. But it can possibly save against my Ego Whip, but not Psionic Blast...

Evo Whip sounds like a cheap way to possibly burn through Legendary Resistance (no way the Dragon would want to lose the best parts of its turn) but ultimately damage is the only way to get through the fight. I'm not sure you'll have time (before he kills you all) to get rid of his LR, unless everyone throws big saves at him all at once (and I roll low - keep in mind, if he makes the save himself, he doesn't need to waste his LR).

... pondering whether dragons have blindsight or not...

They do. I'm afraid that Lorenn's trick might have worked if he'd hid behind a crest of ice and attacked at range, but there's no way for him to get in melee with the dragon without it seeing him. I've been waffling with just allowing it, because I hate to let down an awesome turn like that.

I think I might compromise by allowing the crit, but denying the sneak attack.

Well, there are good guys near the Dragon, so the Sneak Attack is still in effect. So if you could have a means of granting Lorenn Advantage, that would cancel out the disadvantage, thus allowing the attack to work.

Could Lorenn have Inspiration for his bravery, thus granting advantage and thus allowing the turn to go forward?

Sneak attack doesn't work at all if you have disadvantage, but yeah, I'm not generous with Inspiration, not because I don't like it, but because I never remember it exists.

So... yes. Inspiration will do it! In fact, I'm gonna say that inspiration will make it work just like Lorenn wanted it to... he came in (silently) from some angle that the Dracolich didn't expect (I actually rolled a perception check, WITH advantage, and only got a 22 vs Lorenn's 23!).

I'll finish the round soon.

BTW @Prickly Pear were you gonna roll Alhana? I have her on top of the high peak on my map ATM...
