Honestly, I'd like to run a game for you Fitz. It's got to be easier to play in multiple games then to run them. I have some time, just need to find a good module. Wish I could find my old Iron Kingdoms stuff.

Ooh! That'd be fun. Almost all the games I was playing here have ended. It really doesn't take me anywhere near as much time to play than it does to DM. I'm in, whenever you want to do it.

Update: It took me all day (on and off, obviously) to get the short turns I just did finished. I had to take apart my kid's beds (we sold 'em) and pack 'em into a truck. Then we drove into town to look at bunk-beds, and visited with my parents. I did a bit of my post in the morning, and the rest just now. I'll see if I can get this round done...

And now, there are no Mordguard. I was hoping at least one would survive who could carry the other's equipment temporarily. I doubt any of these corpses can be used.

... I honestly don't know, and I have been wondering. A living human is pretty vulnerable. Poke a single hole in a number of spot and it's dead.

But the body is good for reanimation as an undead. But when you kill a zombie or skeleton... are you just breaking the spell, or did you obliterate the body? I am not sure, and that matters for necromancers, this corpse recycling. Is there a rule in 5e about this?

It's my opinion that necromany spells favour nice fresh bodies. Once you smash 'em up enough, (like bashing a zombie's head), the spell gives up (it's overworked as it is, keeping the dead moving about so unnaturally).

Mord's dagger likes to melt the flesh off a freshly dead corpse and raise a nice clean skeleton.

You can always stow the gear on the Frostskimmr when it "walks" by... ready to use later.

The spell Animate Dead doesn't mention anything about the freshness of the bodies or bones. I guess, with the DM's permission, you could use this spell to get your Mordguard back... Incidentally, Sesto have prepared this spell (Mord's "servant" made him curious...).

Good point, although the spell does specifically note 'humanoid' I don't think undead get that descriptor anymore.

I'm sticking with the idea that an undead that has been killed is not a good corpse to create annother undead with. Maybe if you were a really powerful necromancer who could repurpose a bunch of broken bones into some sort of undead monstrosity, but you can't just make a skeleton out of a smashed skeleton. It's smashed.
