D&D 5E Xanathar's Guide to Everything: What subclasses made the cut?

Are we only going to see sub-classes that were previously officially playtested? Not everything in SCAG got an official playtest did it?

I'm pretty sure that everything in there we saw in the playtest UAs, but I don't think everything made the cut; twitter said 25 of them, 4 of them from SCAG or something.

I actually didn't like the CHA hit thing...I hated that from 4e, too, so it's probably just me.
Nah, it isn't just you; I've been in pretty heated discussions here over the topic of using stats for other functions. Lots of people don't like it; I personally happen to love it.

Not just you. I don't like when pretty much any ability score can be used to replace what another one does, depending on your class. It makes every class feel the same. A high CHA that gives the same bonuses to attack and damage as a high DEX or STR? What, do you sweet talk the opponent into just standing there while you take your time to deliver a more effective blow? What next? "My class allows me to use strength to help decipher these ancient writings."

IMO, each ability should have core things it helps with, and they aren't all overlapping. You want to be good with weapons in combat? Then use strength and dexterity. Otherwise why bother have stats in the first place? Just name them "primary" and "secondary" stat if they don't have any real functional difference in game play.

I actually kind of like the multi attribute use. Though only when it kept gated by classes, feats, and level milestones. I find them a useful little tool and the fluff for them is always fun to think of. Especially considering vanilla D&D lacks alot of unique qualites with Fluff

As for hopefuls for subclasses I hope a fixed Heblade got in. I really like the idea of making a deal with the evil sword and Bladelocks are one of my favorite archtypes. Only other thing I really hope for is maybe more Druid subclasses because right now Druids are a wee bit too binary and Land is incredibly subpar to Moon

I know that there were dislikes on the Lore Master, and that there is supposed to only be one Wizard subclass, but I'm really hoping for both Theurgy and Lore Master. I really like the idea of the Int-based Cleric-Wizard hybrid. I am currently playing the Lore Master, and it is lots of fun, very wizardy, and not OP. It lets me shine at being a wizard, but the abilities that everybody was worrying about don't actually come up frequently enough to be a problem.
