Against the Giants 5e PBP (Full)

Wow, the perks of being in the trade huh? Must be hard parting with some of those vintage books
It can be, but as much as I love comics, I love to sell them, too. It mostly hurts only when they go to someone that I can tell only wants them for their money value. Which, I suppose is sort of hypocritical, but I'd much rather match them with someone who will read and/or cherish them than flip them - even though I suppose that is what I'm doing with them.

So, for those in group 2, since I'm new and need a bit of a bigger explanation, I thought I'd post here.

1. Is there a reason we might know whatever is locked behind that door is bad? Did we run into undead earlier, or was it just a hunch?

2. Is there a reason why we wouldn't also free orcs? Are orcs in cahoots with the giants?

3. Based on Opening Post, we are supposed to kill/depose Nosnra. Have we accomplished this yet?

I've gotten the factions totally messed up. We're murdering a bunch of giants (hill giants?) but we just ran into some Stone Giants and have made a deal with them but they're in the same compound as the the ones we are murdering.

Can someone please help me get it straight? I did go through the pbp but it was mostly the group attacking stuff. If it will be a spoiler to the other group, maybe put it into spoiler tags.

I will put this in spoilers (don't know where the other group is), and answer to the best of my ability given my understanding.

1. Doc is a reborn from the Mesa of Madness with a pact to collect souls for the Nameless Sheriff as well as being a phantom rogue. So his recognition of the voice as something familiar ... is not a good thing.

2. In 1e modules, orcs are not particularly friendly; I don' think we have any particular allegiance or requirement within the party to free them. But I am open to reasonable discussion.

3. Don't think so.

We previously made a peace with the stone giants, and are continuing that. We are just trying to end the Hill Giant scourge. Don't make more fights than you need, I guess.

As for why the Hill Giants, it's because they have been raiding and looting, and our mission is to end their baleful influence, with extreme prejudice. If they were to surrender and leave, that would be fine.
