Hey Pssthpok dude! :)

Hey there, pal.

Good; just making sure.

Where in the rules does it specify this?

Well, it doesn't specify to the contrary, ergo the implication is that smite damage is multiplied. If anyone can disprove this, it will make my epic paladin gods that less scary.

Don't worry about that, I will need the run off when I add the majority of the prerequisites to the table.

Ah, okay.

Uhoh as in "Pssthpok, you missed it: I'm saving Resonance for Chronicle", or as in "Crap, I must have forgot to put it in Apotheosis" ? :)

I had Spell [Effect] for ages, and I just removed it at the last minute because I thought it might be too difficult to adjudicate.

Damn. I'd really like to find a way to make this work, even if unofficially (as in not in the Beta 1.0 release). Did you have any ideas that seemed sort of okay?

Suppose the factored value (HD/n|n = the listed value in Table 4-9) equalled the HD that are halved in the standard DC formula of 10 + 1/2 HD + divine bonus + ability modifier?
Take a 50 HD lesser deity with Harm Wave and a 44 Charisma... we're looking at a DC of 10 + 8 (divine obnus) + 16 (Ability) + 3 ([50/8]/2): DC 37 harm effect to anyone within long range of the deity.
This might work for any spell that allows a save, but how to determine CL? What about spells that don't observe SR?
Yes, I see what you're saying about the difficulty.

The attack and damage is broken, but simply attack or damage is not.

You're not concerned about the intrinsic mechanic at all? A scaling divine ability which, through Legendary [Ability] and Total [Ability] can be sorta tweeked out... dangerous.

Okay I am confused. What divine ability is granting +4 to all saves?

None; I was making an idle suggestion for a fix to the Presence/etc abilities. If you count a divine ability as 6 feats, you could say Great Fortitude x2, Lightning Reflexes x2, and Iron Will x2 (+4 to all saves) would count as a divine ability, even though the numbers are sorta low. Ergo, one could count the Epic [Save] feats and get that hypothetical divine ability's boon up to +8 to all saves.

Thanks for the help mate.

No problem.

Okay, well then I'll have to come up with a new Paladin based power then.

More like, as in its not going to be in Beta 1.0.

Yes, I see what you're saying about the difficulty.

Its really complicated and it totally messes with dozens of other abilities.

No. They scale perfectly - once I fix the attack and damage error that is.

I seem to recall there was a feat (in Forgotten Realms I think (?) which gave +1 to each save. Therefore such an epic feat would give +2 and a divine ability would give +18 ~ as per the fluid abilities rule. Therefore a minimum of +15 is okay by me. ;)

I've been going through the feats and I'm wondering about the power attack chain. None of the feats describe what they do for two handed fighting. Normal power attack is doubled for two handed, so would improved just do 3x and superior 4x?

Hello

Yo U-K!!!
I've read all the comments on Ascension, and it's seems to be very good! :)
2 suggestions: 1) Please make the super templates(Omega, Alpha etc) in the appendix or anywhere in the book please , can't wait for the Epic Bestiary volume 2!
2) Please a preview of Surtur or Metatron :) in the next week would be great!

Hi Sledge mate! :)

Yes I would just add +1 each time.

The alternative is x2, but that seems much too powerful.

No can do matey...the page count is choc-a-bloc as it is. You'll just have to wait for Bestiary 2.

Sorry. :p

Maybe a preview of Surture for the 1.1 Beta Update. ;)

A lot I hope....then we can view the progress of a glorious work of art as it's completed.

Sidenote - Hunefer template...is it done yet or has it been scrapped?

Id love to play a hunefer thats more in line with the epic bestiary.

Of course Id also like to play a dust lich. A mid-step between demilich and akalich

it would go kinda like this....lich - demilich - dustlich -akalich...though what would come after that is anyones guess. But I have my heart set on a dust lich.

I wish someone would create a convergant lich. You know...a group of liches get together and become one conjoined lich. I know people have done this with demiliches...but Im more looking for an irrevocable conjoining. That way I can finally make the darkest god of my realm....the demilich city. Its a city made of the skulls of billions of demiliches. A city that grows very slowly, but very surely. It all started with a group of demiliches fouling up a ritual to create a living wall. It only sucks in liches and demiliches, so akaliches more or less roam freely as the masters of this dire city.

To date...no character has ever gone there, but theyve had to fight the plethora of undead that flow freely from that horrid place.

Keeping in mind that in this world evil has ruled for millions of years, which is about how long it's taken the city to get to its current size, even with the endless hordes of necromancers and liches that worship this place.

Thanks U-K!
But we 'll have to wait for a several months to have Ascension 100% completed( i'm talking about the Template) , if the template are in the books (few pages i suppose) the book will be complete.

Hi Pssthpok matey! :)

1.1? How many Betas can we expect?

Well I lost about 26 days on the cover, so that through the plan of having it finished for 1.0 out the window so to speak.

It seems a 1.3 is a possibility. :o
