I'll add in the Surtur (5) pages, even though I imagine I won't get them 100% finished, at least people will be able to see the format for the sample immortals. ;)

EDIT: Okay I just Updated. Chapter 3 is about 80% completed, and the Surtur entry is about 90% completed.

Awesome. I just looked over it. The sample deity entrys look really nice. (When they are fully finished)

The only thing that seems a bit off is Surtur's CR. He looks way stronger that CR 120... But that may be because all his powers are well chosen. He is supposed to be a combat machine. U_K, I think you have the same problem I have: Unconcious Powergaming :) My players think anything I design deserves a CR Ajustment because I don't give them usesless feats/skills/powers or put them in an impossible battle locale. (Example: using a Mercury Golem in a really Low-Magic setting... Or a Demi-Lich...)
While it started as a joke, I think they're right. U_K, you might wanna note that, should you run a game. (I am sure you could put things together with Ascension that would annihilate game balance as we know it. The question is, how close do you come to that level without realizing it?) :)

And the portfolio section looks sweet too. Once all the powers are finished for the portfolios, all thats left are the sample deities, Resonance rules, and a few power tweaks and a few fixes in typos.
 


One question; why Earth? He seemed more the Destruction type to me, given his role in the Apocalypse (note that I disagree with your non-Lawful requirement on that Portfolio).

Also, you didn't apply the effects of his Uncanny Weapon Focus.

I think I have pretty much everything covered, although it looks like I will need a full page for both the Avatar and Aspect - I had hoped to be able to finish them both in one page...although I had already anticipated that the page count would reach 224.

Well Surtur would be ECL 240 with full equipment. He has only one artifact, so that means his ECL/CR is reduced by 3/12th*. That means his ECL is 180, which gives him a CR of 120.

*Each artifact is worth 1/12th the total ECL/CR.

That said he is a complete combat monster. You don't want him to score a critical hit, thats for sure. ;)

I have a few ideas for new artifacts, but the official legends top out at two (at best). Anvil of Doom and Eternal Flame are two artifacts used in the comics. But I don't really want to copy anyone outside the mythology.

I may change the Sword of Revenge from having Fire Nexus to 'Flashing' (aka Counterstrike) which would make its name apropos. Then Surtur could always add +30d6 anyway from his Fire Mastery (Strike).

To be honest I am still undecided. I wasn't sure whether to go for War, Destruction or Earth. I sort of like the idea of tying Muspell to the Elemental Plane of Lava. Which then makes Surtur more of an elemental force.

True. I wanted to make sure I had all the feats right before I apply all feat/ability bonuses.

I couldn't decide whether to give him itntegrated Fighter Levels or Integrated Sorcerer Levels.

What do the rest of you think?
