D&D 5E (2014) Into the Dragon's Maw (OOC)

I've no intention of making requests to edit. Leaving Pell as is! (Though I think it's nice the DM is flexible)

I was actually surprised that was the only request. I guess 5E is still new enough where people don't feel the need to tweak yet. Seriously though, a rope tool proficiency is probably the simplest homebrew option that I've seen. What's the harm?

*Fast forward to final scene with the dragon hog-tied and the heroes posing around it*

Story:

Faera hails from this drow city deep beneath the sunlit lands of the kingdom. Faera was an orphan, a survivor from a drow house wiped out by their rivals, left to fend for herself in a harsh world. Was in that horrible time of her life that she heard to the voice of the Dark Fey, a long forgotten deity of the drow that gave her power in exchange for doing something in the surface world.

Surviving the long and solitary journey through the Underdark, Faera finally arrived on the surface world through a small access tunnel in the eastern Kings Forest. Travelling at night only, she began her way towards a the destiny only her dark patron known. In one of those journeys, she eventually became a member of a small company of Adventurers...

Notes:
I've treated the rituals spells for the Book of Ancient Secrets invocation as "extra spells for the spellbook", as detailed in the wizards specific rules for this game. I have chosen only a few ritual spells (those marked with a *), but I'll remove them if the DM ask for it.

Also, I have used the Find Familiar ritual, that's why I have a familiar. I'm using the variant rule from the Monster Manual (p. 347) that let me use any creature of Tiny size as a familiar. I can change it to a normal one if this rule is not allowed in this game, thought.

Zeromaru X, I promise you that I will look over the sheet with more details when I have the time, but I just wanted to mention that the line, "Skin: Drow....-ish?" is just fantastic.

@mips42 I'm looking over Cade. I know he's not finished, but I wanted to give it an initial once over.

I want to make sure that I'm tracking the stat buy correctly. It looks like you went with the regular human (+1 to all stats) and spent some ASIs. I'm having trouble coming up with your initial point buy though. I think you have unspent initial points (I'm getting 3 unspent points when trying to replicate your spread and assuming you spent two ASIs)

Here's my attempt to rebuild your spread: initial purchase (pre racial) Str:13, Dex:13, Con:15, Int:11, Wis: 10, Cha: 8.
Modified for racial: Str:14, Dex:14, Con:16, Int:12, Wis:11, Cha:9
Two ASIs for Str: 18.
If that's right, you have three unspent initial points. You don't have to spend them, but they're there if you want them.
this was my path, if it's wrong let me know:
[sblock=building Cade]
I started with the standard array (Str 15, Dex 13, Con 14, Int 12, wis 10, Cha 8) which is 27 points
- Variant human, added 1 to Str and Con (16 and 15 respectively) and chose the Sentinel feat.
@ 4th level, ASI 2 points to STR (now 17)
@ 8th level, ASI 1 point to Con and 1 to Cha (now 16 and 9)
@12th level, ASI 1 point to Str and 1 to Wis(18 and 11)
[/sblock]
Since we're talking about Cade, my thoughts for him (in Char) is that he wanted to be a knight but, since he is of common birth, could not get knighted. That was my thought behind being a soldier and specializing in cavalry. It was the closest he could get.
Fighting style would likely be Protection:
When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet o f you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield.

Archetype would be Champion:
3: weapon attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
7: add half your proficiency bonus (round up) to any Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution check you make that doesn’t already use your proficiency bonus.
In addition, when you make a running long jump, the distance you can cover increases by a number of feet equal to your Strength modifier.
10: you can choose a second option from the Fighting Style class feature. (defense)
Defense: While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC

Anywho, that's where I am with Cade.

I dont quite know if I get the equivalent level of Battlemaster since, technically I've only been a Battlemaster for 2 levels. Your call.

Okay, that explains it. I was doing the numbers with a normal human instead of a variant.

For your 10th level, you need to choose another fighting style not another archetype. So on that list that you choose protection off of (PHB 72), you'll also choose another option.

xD well... I didn't remember their skin is obsidian when I did the character sheet.

I have edited some things (mostly orthography, and the CN alignment to CG. I don't know why I typed CN...)

Yeah, I edited the original post when I figured that out.
