No Nerf for Healer's Broach Yet?

They really did succeed!
I'm glad they reined surgeless healing in. I would have preferred they reined it in with consistency. Why target the gloves of the healer, but not the healer's broach? Purely arbitrary? Why target a suit of armor, but not a mace?

It was either arbitrary, or they targeted the items which presented a low opportunity cost.

The gloves, for example, were a gimmie: there aren't many good Hand-slot items in the game.

Weapons are a whole 'nother story. The Weapon slot is perhaps the most important slot in the game.

Armor slot vs. Neck slot? Those are closer to parity, IMHO. That choice may have been more arbitrary.

To WotC's credit, they are usually pretty good about explaining the whys and wheretofores. Just seems more arbitrary in this case.

It may well be arbitrary. It may well be that some far off day the healer's brooch will be hit. There was a large list of things that granted surgeless healing to hit. Guess I can just ask Greg if it was on purpose or more a question of what was easy and convenient.
