The Katalians, seeing four of the party members, immediately shake their spears and make noises that are something of a combination of elation and aggression. Antapkos and Siofrita are not yet noticed as the bramble thicket is mostly in the way. There is no doubt as to their intentions. Part of the group splits to charge at Sprthnt and Kuwaia, the remainder at Cormorante and Britta. It appears that none will throw his spear.

Antapkos will augment his athletic skill and throw a javelin at his closest enemy. Siofrita will fire and arrow at her closest enemy, while attempting to ionize his insides. Cormorant and Britta will run to meet the enemy. Cormorant will bodily run into the first, attempting to knock him down before stabbing him with a javelin. He will also augment his strength as he moves. Britta will halt at the last instant, waiting to receive her opponent to counter attack. Sprthnt will fire his arrow at his nearest enemy while attempting to throw him backward with a pulse of air. Kuwaia will run toward the enemy, never slowing as she slices at him with her sword.
Britta sets herself while Cormorante and Kuwaia both reach their respective targets. Cormorante slams into the first Katalian Wildcat with his left shoulder, sending the man backward almost 3 strides, knocking some of the wind from him. A second Wildcat reaches Cormorante and sticks him in the side with his crude spear, cutting through the tunic and drawing blood. Kuwaia runs by her first opponent, dragging her sword across his abdomen, or at least trying to, as the shaft of his spear blocked the cut. His follow through clips the back of Kuwaia, cutting through her tunic and leaving a small gash. A second opponent arrives, while she is a bit out of position, and sticks her in the gut with his spear, doing significant damage.
Britta pushes aside the spear of her first opponent with her shield as she counters with her hammer, hitting nothing vital, but bruising the body. Her follow through misses. A second opponent reaches Britta, avoiding her shield and pushing his spear across her ribs, cutting a gash in her side.
Antapkos launches his javelin into the side of one of the opponents facing Britta. The Katalian is not quite prepared for the assault. The javelin jambs between two ribs before falling free. Blood immediately oozes from the wound. Siofrita buries an arrow in one of the opponents facing Britta, causing significant harm.
Sprthnt cannot help Kuwaia as he is predisposed, for two Katalians reach him as they reach her. He shoots one at point blank, burying the arrow to the fletching, just below the Wildcat’s sternum. That Katalian falls backward, conscious, but unable to move. Neither Sprthnt nor Siofrita is able to affect the Katalians, mystically. Sprthnt is able to use his bow to partially defend himself against his second opponent, taking a minor cut in the process.
Antapkos will move closer to Britta as he launches his second javelin at the same opponent that he had already struck. Though he is more suited to augmenting himself, he will attempt to mystically assault the Katalian, as well, by causing his insides to becaome caustic. Siofrita will move toward Cormorant and launch her second arrow at the opponent he had knocked away, hoping to keep him down. She will continue to attempt her mystical caustic harm.
Cormorant will focus on his standing opponent, stabbing, first with the javelin in his left hand and following with the right. He does not attempt to augment his physical attacks as it would slow him. Britta will maintain her defensive posture, intending to use her talent for counter striking. She does not try to augment her physical assaults, either.
Sprthnt will continue to defend himself with his bow while shooting from point blank. He will augment his arrows with mystical heat. Kuwaia, despite her injuries, will continue to slice at her opponents, as best she can, hoping for someone to come to her aid soon. She has no other choice.
Cormorante stabs at his standing opponent but cannot make an effective attack. This opponent cannot stab him back, either. As the two men jockey for a third exchange of weapons and the fallen opponent regains his footing, an arrow from Siofrita puts the rising man back on the ground to remain. Britta uses her shield to deflect the incoming spear from her first opponent, countering, again, with her hammer with about the same effectiveness as her first blow. The man staggers slightly. The second javelin from Antapkos incapacitates her second opponent.
Kuwaia is in serious trouble. She cannot strike either of her opponents and receives two more spear thrusts in the abdomen during the exchange. The first is trivial, but the second puts her down on the ground. Now only facing one opponent, Sprthnt has no difficulty avoiding being stuck with a spear, as he incapacitates his second opponent with an arrow through the gut.
Antapkos runs forward to retrieve one of his thrown javelins, in an attempt to go to the aid of Kuwaia. Though it is likely unnecessary to voice, he yells, “Kuwaia is down!”
Siofrita looks up at the sound of his voice and takes aim at one of the Katalians who had felled Kuwaia. She knows that those two Wildcats must be distracted so that they can not stab her again, while she was already down. Cormorante and Britta still have to contend with one opponent, each. Sprthnt begins walking toward Kuwaia as he draws and fires. He can not do so if he runs. He yells back. “I am trying to reach her!”
Both Cormorante and Britta gain the upper hand over their remaining opponents. Cormorante sticks his three times, twice with his right spear and once with his left. The individual wounds are trivial; but together, they incapacitate the Katalian. Britta hits hers one last time, knocking him out.
Antapkos manages to reach, retrieve, and throw one of his javelins before either of the Wildcats over Kuwaia can think to stab her again to make sure she is dead. The thin ceramic blade passes just under the ribs on the right side, burying it to the shaft. The Katalian is significantly injured. This action likely saved Kuwaia. The two Wildcats over her turn to face Antapkos, instead of stabbing the fallen girl. The uninjured one who reaches the javelineer first is unable to stab him; but when the second arrives, the double team allows him to stick his spear into the outside of the thigh of Antapkos.
Just after Antapkos is struck, Siofrita shoots the already injured Katalian with an arrow. Combined with the damage from the javelin, the Wildcat goes down, unable to move. Being the last enemy standing, Sprthnt follows his movement and shoots the remaining man. It is not enough to put him down; but with the conflict now being five on one, his demise happens within another two seconds. All eight Katalian Wildcats have been put on the ground, but so remains Kuwaia.
Antapkos retrieves his javelins and quickly makes sure that all fallen Katalians will never again rise to attack another living thing. Sprthnt runs to his fallen heartmate to see what he can do for her. Siofrita runs to her, as well, to lend aid in helping her. Cormorante and Britta pick over the belongings of the enemy to see if anything is of interest or use. Once Kuwaia has been tended, of a necessity, everyone will see to his own wounds.
The duty of Antapkos is routine and quick, the sharp ceramic blade of a javelin being efficient for the task. After all is said and done, everyone will be fully recovered by first light, except Kuwaia, who will need a little more than another hour. A few new scars to show for the conflict and no one will be the worse for wear.
All of the Katalians are carrying some kind of seeds or nuts and dried meat. This is expected of any traveler. As Katalians are suspected of being cannibals, the meat is discarded but the seeds and nuts can be saved. Of the other items that Cormorante and Britta collect, there is a talisman of speckled black feathers with white tips made from the tail of a turkey. If bodily carried by a Antapkos or Siofrita, it will augment total Health and total Confluence by +2.
There is a talisman composed of five, glossy black feathers with white tips made from the tail of a magpie. If bodily carried by Antapkos or Siofrita, it will augment total Will and total Adhesion by +2.
There is a necklace holding a pair of cleaned boar’s teeth. If bodily carried by anyone other than Kuwaia, it will augment total Health and total Confluence by +2.
There are four canines from a wolverine strung with a thong to be hung from a belt as a fetish. If bodily carried by anyone other than Kuwaia, it will augment total Will and total Adhesion by +2.
One was also carrying a translucent, yellow and orange stone, called Firestone. If bodily carried by anyone other than Kuwaia, the stone will augment total Persona and total Cohesion by +2. If held in hand by Siofrita, the stone will enhance the mystical effectiveness of the Enthrall task by triple; after which, the stone disintegrates.
Another was carrying an opaque green stone with flecks or streaks of semi-translucent lighter green running through it, called jade. If bodily carried by anyone other than Kuwaia, the stone will augment total Strength and total Confluence by +2.
Another has the cleaned skull of a magpie strung from a thong for a belt fetish. If bodily carried by Cormorante or Sprthnt, it will augment total Will & total Adhesion by +2.
Lastly, there is an ingot of extremely shiny, mirror-like metal used by more knowledgeable smiths in the manufacture of weather-resistant alloys, called chromium. It is of no mystical use to anyone in the party.

The turkey feather talismans is not needed, so it is discarded, but Siofrita keeps the one made from magpie feathers. Siofrita also keeps the firestone, discarding her parrot feathers. Cormorante keeps the piece of jade, discarding his rooster foot. Sprthnt keeps the magpie skull, giving his shadestone to Britta. The ingot of chromium is kept just for its monetary value. After having some breakfast and when Kuwaia is recovered, the crew will continue their exploration of the Land’s End Pass.
