(OOC) The Dog Days of Doom

I forgot:

Having someone attack through a wall will probably ruin the illusion right away. I’m not sure it makes sense to give someone advantage on an attack and then also force the enemy to spend an action to roll to investigate and disbelieve.

Doing that more than once in a combat probably won’t work? Idk. Zombies have an Int of 3.

Yeah, this is all pretty well and good for Zombies, but I'm not sure I'd let it go too far with regular folk. I guess it kind of depends on their expectation vs the reality of what's going on.

I’m not sweating too much about it. Just wrapping my head around it so I can be consistent.

This is how I’m ruling it so far:

1. If they(enemies) touch it or attack into it at all, it goes away

2. If they interact with it in such a way as to make something weird happen, it goes away.

Example: they shoot an arrow at an illusory wall and it goes through.

I’m considering that a physical interaction.

Where it gets weird:

Shooting into illusory fog. Arrows should go through fog and magical fog is a thing.

I’m thinking, unless you use your action every turn to make the fog roil and move, they might get suspicious and use their action to “investigate” and get a save. The tricky part is deciding when getting suspicious happens.

In the end, spending an action to give people advantage isn’t a big deal because you could spend it attacking instead.

Ooh, I read one thread on it but not this one. I will!
Ok, perfect. I can get into those rules of engagement. It makes sense to spend the action to make the roil and move, but its more likely that my character will simply recast so the spell is fresh (in case he's not aware that someone actually did spend their action and succeeded on their investigation check).
I can work with those rules of engagement, thanks!
Cheers,

SG

You still have to spend your action to cast it, right?

I’ve been naming my ooc spoiler tags GM. You can all look at those.

But, if someone wants to finish the last zombie(no rolls required) and describe how the fight ends, go ahead. She only has a few hp left and I don’t see a point of dragging the fight on.

I’ll post after that.

Wants? I'd love to. I have a hard time recognizing when I can take another turn. Is it a new round since last I posted?
Yeah, fight is over. The zombie has less than 5 hp and is outnumbered so I didn’t want to drag it on. I wanted one of the players to describe their victory. Literally, the first person who posts gets to do it.

Regarding the rounds and turns, maybe I’ll start doing what you do and declare the next round.

Since we were doing 1 post a day, I was just thinking that if you post that day, your turn is done (like each day is a round) but it’s happened that we have posted more than once per day and I can see it being confusing so I’ll start making it more obvious.

My plan, to keep the adventure going, is to post every day. So, if you miss a post, I’m just going to skip your turn or puppet your character. I haven’t really needed to do that. I think we’ve been going at a good pace!!

I want to start the next part of the adventure by Sunday at latest. If people want to take today to discuss what you want to do next. IC or OOC.

Benny @Steve Gorak declared wanting to go to the market and then the beacon. Is that what everyone wants to do? Skipping the market will be safer but less loot. Stratus can get a shield and holy symbol at the market too.
