GM: I'm not sure what you mean by "decisive attack." If you mean a critical hit, then you didn't actually get a critical hit. That only occurs on a roll of a natural 20 on the die. Other than that I'll need you to clarify what you mean. I'm leaving damage at 7 unless you can explain what you mean by "decisive attack" and how that gives you maximum damage.
GM:

OOC: nevermind,i was thinking i got a natural 20 and not a total of 20 on that roll.and thanks for remind me of my HP status.

Petron steps up with a broad swing that slices across the chest of the guard between him and Lia. The mans chest bleeds heavily and he keels over for a moment, but regains his stance and keeps ready to attack, cursing at Petron as he does, "Is that the best you can do?"

As Petron brings his swing fully about, he cleaves into the adjacent guard, who, being of substantially weaker constitution, falls flat on his face from the blow.
GM: Erik and Lia are up.

Thanks again for running Petron, drothgery.

OOC: since I was wrong and Petron didn't kill red2, he'll continue to mark him if you don't think that's retconning
Trusing in Petron's ability to keep the guard's attention and her own agility, Lia fires a pair of arrows at her quarry from point blank range, then moves to get a better shot at the remaining guards.[sblock=ooc]standard: Twin Strike vs. red2 (prime shot and combat advantage from flanking applies; this provokes an OA, but red2 is marked by Petron and Lia has defensive mobility)
if she takes red2 down,
move: shift to T13
minor: set red1 as her quarry[/sblock]

As Lia prepares to let fly a pair of arrows the guard takes the opportunity in Lia's lowered defenses to swing. His mace comes flying forward just against Lia's defensive efforts and it appears he will strike true, but suddenly Petron's axe clangs up against the mace knocking the blow awry (AC 18; would have hit without being marked). The guard is momentarily off-kilter from Petron's strike and Petron uses the opportunity to take a quick swing, but the guard regains his balance and handily ducks out of the way (AC 9). However as his attention is turned to Petron, Lia lets her arrows fly. The first narrowly misses, flying right by the guard's head, but the second strikes its mark, hitting the guard in the shoulder and sending him to the floor wincing in pain. He won't be causing any more trouble this fight.

Only two guards remain.
GM: Erik is up.

OOC: If the attack would have hit AC18, it would have missed even without the mark effects. Lia has +2 vs OA's, which makes her AC 19 vs OAs; she gets the Defensive Mobility feat for free as an Archery Style ranger. Which was why she was willing to use a bow in melee against someone also fighting Petron; he'd be at a -4 vs. her unless Petron didn't mark his opponent for some reason.
Also, Lia is in the wrong square on the new map; she moved to T13

GM: drothgery, to clarify, he hit AC 18 after taking the -2 penalty for being marked by Petron (otherwise it would have been a 20). He didn't have a -4 to hit. He had a -2 to hit and you had a +2 to AC. Mathematically they are the same, but technically they are different effects which is why I chose to describe it that way. Either way you came away without being hit. :)

Also, Lia's position is corrected on the new map.
The guards are wracked by Erik's spell. One guard (grey) appears to have turned almost completely to stone and stops moving. The other guard has a stronger constitution, but still looks as if he is barely hanging on to life. Seeing himself in an impossible situation, he cautiously withdraws from combat (shift to S10) and then turns tail and runs out of the room.

The clerks all cower before your party, each of them clearly fearing that they might be next to face your wrath.
GM: Just a reminder, you could use the Intimidate skill to try to force him to surrender since he's bloodied before he gets away. Otherwise this is probably the last round of combat.
