D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Ensemble)

"Traitor?" the word leaves a bad taste in Zander's mouth.

"Look you lice infested son of a harpy!" The big man steps forward a fist clenched at his side. But he visibly stops himself, before doing anything rash.

"I was never, never one of you! So I betrayed no one! No one! I did my job."

He turns from the other man and goes back to his work. Rubbing the breastplate a little over zealously.

"No offence, Pal." grumbles Dunmire quietly, "Apparently you're not the only one."

He trims the wick on the lantern and goes about scraping more of the mud off of his clothes in silence.

Udit looked sharply at the mage "Look, uh Zalena... things are going to get reaaaly ugly here. Plenty of blood has been shed, and there is more to come. Sooo... yahoo uh... you might want to make yourself scarce. Cause we won't be here forever. And then you can come back and look at that flying ship or whatever magical thingamabob in peace and quiet, without heroes and crazy cultists to bother you".

"Because if we have to meet you in battle again..." Udit concluded his remark by closing one eye and doing the "I crush your head with my fingers" gesture. If his arrow didn't find his mark in her neck, he knew that the mystic sisters would literally explode her head.

Udit rubbed his face... exploding heads? Dear gods this place was getting to him. He then nodded at Zander and looked at the map.

"So uh... wow you guys have been busy! I mean we took on a hydra, and stirges, and a fake dragon, but you, uh, brought the fight to them. Shame about Bob. So... we find the last idol and then break into the inner fault? The, uh, zone?, between the alchemy lab and trophy room, has that been explored? What about these other vaults? I'm good with locks..."

"You got it, Sailor." winked Zalena, "No more fighting for me."

For a brief moment, Udit thinks she might be flirting with him, but then he remembers that he maimed the woman, and a sharp look in her eye reveals her total contempt for him. At least he has his boots.

Seeing Mord working on the idols, Lorenn joins him.

"Here, take this one too. We found it in Silakul's chest, just before Bob sacrificed himself allowing us to escape."

"That is a shame about Bob, we shall mourn his passing and pray to Tyr he is our last sacrifice." he looked about with a sad expression on his brutish face. "Were shall we search next?"

Items

Mord gathered items from the others and set to work, identifying them with a magic ritual. He had three of the Bhaalite Idols, a sword that Aquaria had found at the bottom of the Upper Lake, and even the Lizardman Guldred, curious about the weapon he had nearly lost his life fighting over, put forward the trident that he called "the Warfork". He also had the Uvarenni Artefacts and a piece of green chrystal (given to him by SnorLoska).

Bhaalite Idols Four high priests of Bhaal created four idols, each representing an aspect of murder. The Bhaalites’ central treasure vault was protected with overlapping magical fields attuned to the idols. When placed on the correct pedestal, they remove the wards that are tied to each idol's unique nature. Though seemingly delicate, the idols cannot be harmed by any known means. Revealed by blood, each idol has its name on its base in old Common, and a blood-red rune on its underside. Once per day in a ten-minute ritual, a creature can trace the rune on an idol, and doing so causes it to appear upon the tracer’s forehead. That person can then use the magic of the idol. The rune and its magic endure until the creature dies or another creature traces the same idol’s rune.

Murder Through Another’s Hands (This idol shows a priest of Bhaal manipulating a humanoid puppet and was found in Silakul's chest) While the rune-bearer can see an ally, the bearer has resistance to all damage. Damage not taken as a result of this resistance is instead inflicted upon a random ally the rune bearer can see.

Poison Most Foul: (This idol depicts a hooded and cloaked assassin holding a dagger with a poisoned blade and was found at the bottom of the Hydra's pool) Anytime the rune-bearer hits with a weapon attack, the target takes 1d6 extra poison damage.

Foe Rendered Harmless: (This idol is a warrior wearing plate armour marked with demonic inscriptions and was found in the offering made by Urbone, Chief of the Troglodytes.) Up to three times a day, as an action each time, the rune-bearer can cast hold person.

Lightblade a +1 rapier with the added property: when you run your hand along the fuller ("blood groove") you can create a light from no light to the light of a candle (5-foot-space) to the light of a lantern (60-foot radius), and whatever brightness you desire in-between.

Warfork a +2 trident that propels the wielder through the water, granting a 30-foot swim speed (or +10 feet to an existing swim speed)

Uvarenni Relics these ancient elven relics were once magical, but their magic has faded over time.

Crystalline Growths: This is a fusion of local elemental earth magics and the fuel that once powered the Uvarenni Skyship. Any creature that makes a magical attack using a crystal as a focus gains advantage on that attack. The crystal is then consumed.

OOC: Any others?

OOC: Does reading the Ulvarenni book offer any useful information? Or any of the other artifacts for that matter? (Comprehend languages)

Squirrels are evil!

Hearing Mord's conclusions about the loot, Lorenn approaches casually. Looking closely at the sword, he tests his balance by making some fancy moves.
"I can have some use of the blade...", said Lorenn, displaying his charming smile.
