Testing the Waters: (so to speak)
Tellerian Hawke said:
Merin SILENTLY motions for everyone to stop. Then he begins to concentrate, using Way. His hope is that when the other Seekers feel it, they will join in. He is trying to detect people in the immediate area, to make sure this female voice is truly alone, and he is ALSO trying to sense whether or not this person is touched by the Way.
Bolo will assist Merin, putting her hand on his arm if necessary.
Sannit and Turtle will keep a close watch.
Merin gestures a halt, but only Sheldon and Indigo can see it. Fortunately, everyone stopped, instantly at the sound of the voice. Contrary to the grunting noises made by the others, this was definitely speech. Bolo eases back and touches Merin's arm as soon as she feel him begin to manipulate way. Sheldon has no need to move in order to join in.

[sblock=Detect Bending]Range = Adhesion + Will
Merin = 8 paces, Bolo = 10 strides, Sheldon = 11 paces
Total = 24 paces
Essence + Mind + Adhesion + Knowledge + Will + Collegiate + Aberrative + Academic
Merin = 49, Bolo = 45, Sheldon = 51
Total = 145
Detect =
76 + 145 = 221
Resist =
75 + 61 = 136 = fail[/sblock]
The instant Merin, Bolo, and Sheldon realize the Seekers are, in fact, facing their first identifiable Bender, the voice is heard again.
Tum mere pyaaron nahin hain, but you will not speak Kaalatala. Do you? Mere paarlar karane ka svaagat, hai kaha makkhee makadee. Do come in.

Note: The understandable words are spoken in Centrin. Sheldon translates, more from instinct than need, her syntax demonstrating that she speaks Centrin, well.
