Sannit will throw his axe at the bender as soon as he is able.

Injured, Bolo will reach out to whoever is next to her, not letting go of Sannit, to try and do a mass heal for the party.

The Way of the Warrior

Sannit will throw his axe at the bender as soon as he is able.
Sannit, who is still standing despite the injury he has received, blindly throws his axe in the direction of where he thinks the female to be.
Attack = 66

The axe can be heard to connect with the back wall of the anteroom but not to hit its intended target.

Bolo's reach does not connect with another Seeker.
GM: Due to damage and fatigue, Bolo is not able to effectively manipulate way. She takes a deep calming breath and decides to wait a few seconds to see if her vision will clear.

Sensing that Bolo is injured and in distress, Turtle roars once at the retreating bats and turns to press his face into the opening to the anteroom.

Merin is Injured

Tor wears a look of confusion, as he ponders the Bender's last words.

The Female Bender said:
"You are so dull and single minded. I told you plainly that I did not make the ravishers nor will I turn you but your prejudice prevents your comprehension. I am not angry nor do I understand hatred, but I have tired of this unidirectional conversation..."

"Psychotic witch!" is all he can blurt out, before he notices that Merin is extremely injured. He rushes to his side, and lifts his head gently, as he begins to concentrate on manipulating Way, to begin the healing process.

Merin smiles weakly. "She told us; she told us twice," he mutters. "There must be some other cause for these tribesmen's affliction. Something in the area, maybe. Perhaps the water is not safe to drink. Perhaps some sort of pollen permeates the air. She said we would be turned as well. We're all in grave danger. Her little fireworks show is the least of our worries!"

And with that, Merin is consumed by a fit of coughing and hacking, which produces a small amount of bloody spittle.

What Once Was Hidden

Tor's vision clears first, as he then turns and kneels at Merin's side. Within 5 seconds, vision returns to those who were blinded by the blast. Sheldon, who seems to have only had the wind knocked from him, regains his bearings to the surroundings.
OOC: Technically this means all Mind scores have returned to 10. It takes 1 second of game time to recover 1 point unless score is reduced by greater than 10, then it takes 1 minute per point.

Strange shadows no longer play about the small room. To the Seekers' chagrin, the augmented darkness not only hid the bat hole from sight but also another exit from the room leading to the outside. The small fire that had been at the female's feet was extinguished in the blast, but the coals still glow with heat. The female is nowhere to be seen.

The contents of the various bowls were also destroyed in the blast,but there is still a considerable amount of debris about the room of various 'gifts' retrieved by the Ravishers, giving the possibility of some useful items.

The bats do return again but through the alternate egress that the female must have used for her departure. Turtle begins clawing at the hole and making noises for Bolo, reverting to instinctive behavior to try to reach her, not understanding that he cannot.
OOC: The other entrance to the anteroom would not accommodate Turtle, either.

To the dismay of the Seekers, especially Merin who is most injured, the fatigue caused by excessive manipulation of way prevents the immediate healing of wounds by Merin, Sheldon, or Bolo. The 3 understand that they have simply overextended their ability and must naturally rest for it to return. Indigo, however, has done little with way up to this point and has enough stamina to make 1 attempt on each injured member, beginning with Merin since he is in the worst shape.
[sblock=Heal Body]Affect = Confluence + Will - Damage (minimum = 1), Indigo = 9
Effectiveness = Essence + Mind + Confluence + Knowledge + Will + Collegiate + Aberrative + Academic
Indigo = 50 + 20 (herb)
Heal Merin = 70 + 95 = 165% * 1 = 2, Body = 3, still severely injured.
Heal Bolo = 70 + 87 = 157% * 2 = 3, Body = 6, hurt
Heal Tor = 70 + 95 + 09 = 174% * 3 = 5, Body = 9 slightly hurt
Heal Sannit = 70 + 72 = 142% * 4 = 6, Body = 10 healed[/sblock]
GM: Party Standing:
Sheldon: Fully Recovered
Tor: Body = 9, Mind = 10
Merin: Body = 2, Mind = 10
Indigo: Fully Recovered
Sannit: Fully Recovered
Bolo: Body = 6, Mind = 10
Equipment Status:
Sheldon: Lizard Tunic -9, Kilt -8
Tor: Lizard Vest - 6, Silk Tunic -6
Merin: Silk Tunic -9, Shendyt -9
Indigo: Lizard vest -4, Culottes -8
Sannit: Spaulders -5, Pighide Hauberk -12
Bolo: Pighide Shirt -7, Lizard Skirt -7

OOC: In 1 hour's game time all will have recovered the ability to manipulate way. In that time, each injured person will also have recovered 1 point of Body, bringing Tor to full recovery. Mobility is limited by 10% per loss of Body, hence Merin is at 20% mobility and could use assistance, but everyone can physically function.

GM: Everyone receives 20 XP for the Ravishers and 5 XP for the Kaalatala Sorceress.

Merin says, "I've been thinking about it. If the Bender didn't feed the bats poison, which they could then transfer to us, then how were we affected? The answer is STILL the bite of the bats. It simply wasn't her doing; the bats must carry some disease, naturally, which causes those bitten to become mindless. All the Bender was doing was exploiting the mindlessness of the tribesmen. Long story short, we need to leave this cave, and avoid the bats. Then we need to rest." Merin has another coughing fit. Tor finishes his thought.

"Once we've rested, we need to use Way to discover whether or not we're infected; if we are, then we need to remove the infection, using Way, but probably augmented by herbs of some kind.... Indigo, your thoughts?"

As Sannit collects his axe he considers going after the bender, but decides it would be wiser to keep the party together while they are injured. He searches this room carefully, avoiding bats if he can. He spends some time comforting Bolo and Turtle, he will keep a close watch so that the injured party members can recover. When things have quieted down enough he will take out his ore samples and search for copper, gold, and silver.

Bolo says, "It seems talking did not go our way this time. I do not want to become bloodthirsty, but giving enemies a chance to attack us while we make an attempt to be civil is wearing on me. We should not be so rash to meet our opponents on their terms."

Turtle puts his head in Bolo's lap. He can tell she is in a foul mood since the human business did not go the way the party wanted. Those bats tasted terrible and he did not feel as though he drew any strength from them.

Considering the Possibilities

Indigo, who is currently poking around the various bowls and containers, pauses and looks to Tor as she speaks.
It makes sense. Toxins tend to render a victim useless. That is there function whether plant or animal based. A disease on the other hand might effectively alter a person's behavior making them go mad. I've heard about a feral dog that turned on its owner, having then to be put down. If it is a disease it should take hours or days before the effect could be noticed. Once we have rested some, I'll help check.

Biding Time

As Sannit collects his axe he considers going after the bender, but decides it would be wiser to keep the party together while they are injured. He searches this room carefully.
Sheldon helps Sannit search the areas.
GM: The bats have returned to their hole in the back of the anteroom. Nothing of value can be found in the main room. The various pieces of hides are stained by blood and covered with bits of bone and flesh, some even invested with flies and maggots. The anteroom, where the Sorceress resided, is orderly, though the fire ruined the herbs that were hanging from the ceiling.

OOC: Items located through nominal search:
24 Tin Ingots
13 Zinc Ingots
11 Iron Ingots
8 Shiny White Stones
5 Shiny grey Stones
3 Shiny Yellow Stones
3 Shiny Blue Stones
2 Shiny Brown Stones
2 Shiny Black Stones
2 Nickle Ingots
1 Copper Ingot

[sblock=Detect Mineral]Range = Cohesion + Will, Sannit = 5 paces
Effectiveness = Essence + Mind + Cohesion + Knowledge + Will + Collegiate, Sannit = 42
No penalty since holding each type.
Copper = 42 - 01 = 43, instantaneous
Silver = 42 - 66 = -24, Time = 24 seconds
Gold = 42 - 37 = 5, instantaneous[/sblock]
GM: Sannit detects that a small amount of copper can be found within the rock of the cave, but it would require mining tools to acquire. It is only about 5 ingots and not really worth the effort or reporting.

There is also a faint amount of detectable silver, but not enough to try mining.

No gold is detected.

[sblock=Explanation of Fatigue]Way is manipulated in 2 manners, Constant or Active.

Constant is taken for granted and includes things like combat augmentation or sense danger. It does not require a specific comment by a character. Each character can maintain a number of constants equal to his health score. As GM, I keep track of this, but as the characters develop and diversify, I may need to be reminded in post.

Active includes things like generate heat, heal body, or detect things and requires a specific statement by the character. The number of active uses in a day is limited to the sum of the character's Body and Health scores. This is not usually a factor unless there is prolonged combat. This can also be difficult for me to track so that I will use a rough estimation.[/sblock]
After helping Sannit collect the findings, Sheldon addresses the group.
Even though this anteroom is readily defensible, we can also be effectively blocked in and trapped. I would rather see danger coming from afar. I think we should help Merin to get outside and move away from here to rest up so that we can re-attempt healing.

Sannit says, "Agreed. Lets make camp somewhere else." He looks over the leather workings in the cave and on the ravishers outside to determine if any of their material can be used to help repair their armor.

Bolo collects some of the bat guano. "If it is sickness spread by the bats it would be present in their waste," she explains. "It might help us identify and find this disease like we do with the metals and plants."

Turtle tries to catch the scent of the woman that hurt Bolo. He wants to know if he smells that scent again.

OOC: we should talk about dividing those stones up evenly to determine what does what.

Relocating for Rest

GM: Looking at the damaged armor, Sannit assesses what is needed to repair it and is satisfied that there are indeed enough materials to do so.

GM: Turtle does catch the female's scent. She apparently moved off in a more easterly direction farther away from the direction the Seekers had arrived.

Tor, Sannit, and Sheldon work in paired rotation to assist in moving Merrin, who can stand and move but his rate is significantly reduced making it more proficient to assist him. After collecting the pack animals, everyone moves almost due north. Traveling in a semi-halted manner until late afternoon, a small tributary of fresh water indicates a good place to rest for the night. Though physically tired from walking, all members are mentally recovered enough to lend aide in healing all remaining damage.
GM: Everyone is fully restored. Are there any specific desired actions before the close of the day?
