Well, I gave it good marks, and I don't knownhownit didnoverall: but if it fell flat in the survey, WotC would happily cut it. That's why it is in the UA, after all. Stuff doesn't make it past a UA Alpha test all the time.

Some on the D&D beyond team are probably chomping at the bit to add a Bastion builder/minigame that would let players wile away the hours building and decorating their virtual bastion online with paid DLC.
There is no need to have anything as involved as the last UA to make that happen though. But a bastion system might get another pass with a radically simpler approach even if other things that polled similarly got dropped altogether.
I have no idea how it will end up getting rated. I was harsh, but I saw a lot of YouTube D&D influencers in my feed who seemed very positive about it. Not the people I generally watch though

When they released it they said it was a special one they threw in early and not one of their normal playtest packets.
I think the numbered playtests were for Player's Handbook critique, and thus since this one was mainly DMG-centric it fell outside the numbering system (the cantrips being added just probably as additional juice to get folks to read it). So the next one might very well be listed as #8.

I was under the impression when they listed this as a "bonus" UA, that it straight up didn't count as one of the listed number ones and was more of a early "Halloween treat" for people. Especially with how soon it came out after the prior one.

Yes, they did say it was a bonus. However, it had been labeled as playtest 8 on these forums in several places so I adjust assumed WotC referred to it the same way (nerd immersion called it playtest 8 as well and claim it was proof that WotC broke their promise that playtest 1-9 were supposed to be about the PHB). However, that is not the case.
