Did I miss any free Career skills for Kospirian? I am still not really sure if I was suppose to get any and I could not find anything as I re-read the character creation... (so I only listed to two that I got from my Race)

Sounds like you may have. Let me double check your maths. Usually a career gives you a choice of 3-4 skills in which you get 1 free rank each, and your first specialization gives you 2-3 skills in which you get 1 free rank each.

GreenKarl Yep! Looks like you missed the part at the beginning of the Spy career about 4 free career skill ranks, and 2 free specialization skill ranks.

Kospirian: double-checking XP
Kospirian starting XP is 110 = 100 (mirialan) +5 XP game resource (bonus) +5 XP character connections (bonus)
You have 20 XP unspent!

CHARACTERISTICS = 50 XP total
Cunning 2 = 20 XP
Intellect 3 = 30XP

TALENTS = 10 XP total
Dodge = 5 XP
Uncanny Senses = 5 XP

EXTRA SPECIALIZATIONS = 20 XP total
Force Emergent = 20 XP

SKILLS = 10 XP total
Cool 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Computer 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Deception 1 (free specialization skill) = 0 XP
Disicpline 1 = 5 XP +5 XP non-career
Melee 1 = 5 XP
Perception 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Stealth 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Streetwise 1 (free specialization skill) = 0 XP

-----------------

Spy (you gain 1 free skill rank in four of these of your choice): Computers, Cool, Coordination, Deception, Knowledge (Warfare), Perception, Skulduggery, Stealth

Infiltrator (you gain 1 free rank in two of these of your choice, stacks with career choices): Deception, Melee, Skulduggery, Streetwise

Maximum starting skill rank is 2.

xynthoros So as for option 1...

Can you splice through a Comms link? The way I see it I have two options, 1 is to try disrupting their systems so they can't actually track us, 2 is to Jamm comms trading our advantage for their disadvantage.

My instinct is that we could interpret it as Rex is already "in" their comm system, and that he drops some kind of data packet spam-mail "bomb" which disables the ability of the walker to share its sensor data. So it wouldn't destroy the walker's sensors, just the ability to transmit to the other stormtroopers. Because the data surge could overload Rex's own sensors, he has to disconnect from the First Order comms in order to do it, losing the ability to listen in.

Does that sound like what you're wanting to do?

Thanks but it looks like 30XP unspent... he gets Rank 1 Discipline (and Cool) from his Race. I knew I was doing something wrong but could not for the life of me find it...

Also do I get 1 additional Free one from Spy and Infiltrator or are those already added in above??

GreenKarl Ah you're right I forgot his mirialan benefits.

So, corrected, here is how your character build currently stands...

So you have 30 XP unspent.

Kospirian: double-checking XP
Kospirian starting XP is 110 = 100 (mirialan) +5 XP game resource (bonus) +5 XP character connections (bonus)

CHARACTERISTICS = 50 XP total
Cunning 2 = 20 XP
Intellect 3 = 30XP

TALENTS = 10 XP total
Dodge = 5 XP
Uncanny Senses = 5 XP

EXTRA SPECIALIZATIONS = 20 XP total
Force Emergent = 20 XP

SKILLS = 0 XP total
Cool 1 (Mirialan species skill) = 0 XP
Computer 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Deception 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Disicpline 1 (Mirialan species skill) = 0 XP
Melee 1 (free specialization skill) = 0 XP
Perception 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Stealth 1 (free career skill) = 0 XP
Streetwise 1 (free specialization skill) = 0 XP

EDIT: As you'll see, I've accounted for your 4 free career skills and 2 free specialization skills.

Obviously, you may decide to change how you purchase skills (especially if you want to get a rank 2 skill for no XP cost by doubling up on Deception or Skulduggery, which appear on both your career & specialization skill lists).

Cool I think I am going to raise one of his Attributes from 2 to 3 as it is really hard to get those after character creation where skills are lots easier... now which one... hmmm debating between Cunning and Willpower

I have a Comms Jammer so with splicing I would be trying to interfere in a way that still lets me pick up their Comms while shutting down their sensors, otherwise I could just switch on the Comms Jammer anf have the same end result.

Gotcha. So Rex is trying to selectively jam transmission of the sensor data from the walker to the stormtroopers, right? So that way only the walker will be able to benefit from the sensors, not the entire squadron?

I'd say you can automatically do that, based on what I'm reading about the comm jammer in AoR.

Sorry, I'm not up on all the tech in the core books.

If you're trying to shut down the walker's sensors altogether via "tele-slicing" over the comms..... I have no idea if that's even possible. To clarify: My concern is that there's a piece of tech (That I don't know about) which is to sensors what a comm jammer is to comms.

Real world Comms network, they would either be using something like voip or straight radio for Comms. If transmitting sensor data is one of the things seems like voip. If it is akin to voip, by being connected to their Comms I could in theory access any systems on that same network. If they are transmitting the sensor data I would think it would be on the network. I am wanting more to give the sensor false information, nothing specific, but just enough to make their sense of where we are unreliable.
