Tommi's vision is pretty narrow -- he's not used to combat like this, and hopes he can stay relatively unobserved. He's unaware, however, of the larger picture. Too much is happening, and not enough light. He sees a lone hobgoblin just up the beach, but instead tries to pick off the one engaging his friends.

He loads a stone in his sling, lets it go, and then lays low, hopefully unobserved.

OOC: Magic stone vs. U22 to hit: [roll0]. If a hit, damage (with sneak attack) = [roll1].
No move. HP 9 AC 14.

The enemy didn't comply to Enseth's request of identification. In response, multiple projectiles scattered on his armor. Behind his raised shield Enseth watched his subtle companions progressing on his flanks, taking down many targets one after another. Their physical integrity seemed unaltered so far, Enseth's shield was acting as a magnet for those green creatures. The Shield Guardian waited for the volley to stop before making a system check.

"Damage averted. All systems operative."

Launching a situation analysis, Enseth studied the operation progress. The result appeared quickly in front of his eyes:
[- Locate and Eliminate the Leader -].
Following his algorithm recommendation, he scanned the battlefield with his light cone, searching for the commander. The yelling one seems to be a good candidat for the job.
"Dear companions, I suggest to cut the head of the snake."

OOC: If there is an enemy in melee range, Enseth keeps tanking and takes the dodge action, end of turn. Else, here is what follows:

Immediately, Enseth raised his arm while his Battlefist turned into an metalic hand, palm standing up toward the Hobgoblin boss.
"Due north by horizontal bearing. Distance by velocity of light: thirty feet... Fire"

A flash of light appeared in Enseth's hand and streaked toward the Hobgoblin.

OOC: Action: Casts Guiding Bolt: 1D20+4 = [10]+4 = 14
If that hits, takes Radiant: 4D6 = [2, 3, 5, 2] = 12
[...] and the next attack roll made against this target before the end of your next turn has advantage[...]
If that misses, then.. hum... bah, nothing.

Note: Enseth playing at init 3, if someone want to use the advantage (assuming there is one), he can use it next round, not this one.

Seeing the goblin dragging the woman off, Lionel sprint around the other side to try and intercept the creature before it gets away with the woman. Lionel winces as he sprints, but his blood was up. Clutching his sword he swiftly snapped the arrow in half, leaving the point wedged in his leg as he ran.

Round Two (Dandin's POV)

Dandin sent a puff of fine dust up the hill and the arrows ceased to fly from the tall grass as the goblins fell into a deep magic-induced sleep. "Go get them, Janos! We've got your back!"

While Janos and his crewmate ran up the hill into the grass, Snake sent some needless but spectacular cover-fire ahead of him, in the general direction of the goblins. Still no arrows returned from the tall grass. Lionel limped along the cottages to follow the goblin who was dragging another woman.

"Marta! I'm here!" Janos called and a woman's voice could be heard replying, "We're over here!"

Janos found his family in a little gully. Dandin could hear a child's voice say to his father, "We did as you taught us, Papa. We hid'n the grass and we were quiet like a field-mouse, Papa!"

"Very good, Lukaz!" his father laughed, relieved, "But quiet like a mouse a little longer, there's still trouble about! To the boat, this way!"

He led his family down the hill toward Dandin and Snake. A woman and two small boys, the smallest not more than a toddler. He and his crewman kept a sharp eye out for goblins. "Oh!" cried the slightly older boy on seeing the burning cottages, "Will they burn our home too, Papa?"

"Once you are in the boat, I will help my new friends here to stop them, Miklos."

Dandin nodded and waved for the family to run toward the boat.

GM: I still need Titus and Drui to finish the other group.

Encounter: Goblin Raiding Party

Round Two (Enseth POV)

Enseth calculated that his defensive strategy was going well and that it was time to press forward. The Hobgoblin pounding on his shield fell to a sling stone that based on trajectory, came from Tommi who was down near the water. Enseth stepped over the body and continued to defend himself while marching forward. Drui followed on his left, also putting all his energy into avoiding the goblin's attacks.

Enseth swivelled his head to see how the others were doing. Angis had pressed forward and goblins had jumped out of the shadow of the burning cottage, pummelling him with the flats of their blades before running off. The dwarf grunted and reloaded his crossbow, firing it at the hobgoblin boss. The quarrel struck home in the hobgoblin's shoulder, wedged between a thick leather pad and his collar bone.

The hobgoblin charged Enseth in frustration, slamming a sword on his shield over and over. Titus ran up beside Enseth, who moved his shield to the side just in time for Titus to thrust his own sword through the gap, stabbing the hobgoblin. The big goblin was injured, but he was extremely tough, and he continued to fight.

Two of the boat's crew came up from behind them and threw large river-rocks at the goblins but the vile creatures ducked and shuffled. Enseth calculated that these crewmen were very brave, but out of their depth and would very possibly be killed or captured by the goblins if he did not find a way to prevent it.

Enseth further calculated that the whole venture was at a turning point, and that there was a high probability of failure if things continued as the were. The goblin dragging the woman came up to a sleeping goblin and kicked it, waking it up. Another goblin ran across the rocky bank, ready to take the woman prisoner or to help wake the other goblins.

Far away behind the first burning cottage, a hobgoblin shot a second arrow at Drui, who stepped behind Enseth to avoid it and then returned to his side.

GM: I got tired of waiting. Drui dodges.

This side looked clear for the most part. At least for the moment. And so Dandin slipped over to the downed Riverman. He wasn't entirely sure if he could do anythingnfor the man, but it didn't seem right to leave him without at least trying. So he knelt down and tried to stabilize him.

OOC: Untrained Medicine check. Medicine: 1D20+2 = [17]+2 = 19

Dandin

The riverman coughed as Dandin tried to revive him. He was alive, but barely. Dandin bound the wound as best he could (as he had once seen Hadasha the Priest of Chauntea bind the wound of a man in the marketplace who had fallen from a ladder) and lifted the man to be taken to the boat by Jonas and his crewmate.

GM: Wow, that's such a good check, I think I will allow it, in particular because the goblins are not really trying to kill anyone.
Gone: (PCs) Dandin; (NPCs) Jonas, Crew4

Tommi's stone whizzes from the sling, and within two seconds his target has collapsed.

He continues along the beach, reloading his sling, and letting fly another stone into the melee. He hears it whistle in the dark. He scoops out three more stones from his pockets. and cupping them in his fist blows onto them, wishing himself good fortune.

OOC: Move to X18.
Attack: W22 to hit: [roll0]. If a hit, damage (with sneak attack) = [roll1].
HP 9 AC 14.
Free interaction: pick out pebbles.
Bonus: cast Magic Stone.
