Two affirmations on the day after Christmas (i.e. slow day) is enough for me to start working on this.

We can wing it a good deal, so if an entire game empties out we'll move to having team v. team or team v. monsters/device of doom.

I'll pregen a bunch of gladiators so we won't get bogged down by that.

I'm thinking ECL 5 or 6, which would allow a few monster-based gladiators but not let it get to the crazy-powerful level.

There are actually at least two gladitorial type arenas in my home campaign world that need to be fleshed out anyway...

Hey Greybar is it possible for us to role up our own gladiators a head of time?

Sure. Aim for a level 6 equivalent, standard gear value per DMG. I'll look up what that is when I get home. I'm planning on using the ECL for monsters from the DMG for this, rather than the ones in Dragon. After all, with the one-shot nature of the arena the ongoing bonuses and powers won't be as big a deal.

The arena you'll be in will not be a flat open area, I'm sure you're glad to hear. Like the Circus Maximus it will have elements which can be brought in. Unlike the Circus Maximus it will have magical elements. Count on fire, acid, and supernatural dangers.

Psionics are allowed, btw, but I'd rather hear about unusual races or classes ahead of time to keep my head from spinning round and round on game day.

Curses! Foiled again! (probably)

It's beginning to look like I may not be able to make it. The schedule at work has begun to display a bit of extreme churn, and at this point I'm not sure from day to day whether I'm working or not, so trying to arrange for Saturday (or *any* specific day) off is problematic. Nyarg.

Further bulletins as events warrant, but Wulf might want to remove me from the definite list. This reeks.

Although I can probably find a replacement for you come game day, please let me know as soon as you know for certain.

I'll leave your name in place till then.

Ah yes, questions... do the nice people running the games mind if we have observers (specifically my SO, a gamer). Also is their any info I need before showing up (other than directions), Doc Midnight? Are the fractionated cats long haired? How long do we expect to be doing this? What's the capitol of The Ivory Coast? How's the parking situation at Casa del PirateeGato?

I have no problem with spectators, Larry- so long as she's willing to have fun (and it helps if she doesn't watch action movies with no plot thinking "this is stupid"). Otherwise, we shall ROCK the HELL ON.

The parking situation's tricky... he'll tell you there are certain hours you can't be parked in certain places.

We should be doing this for roughly five, six hours I should think

Yech...Parking in Newton Centre. What an ugly, ugly thing. I don't know the exact location of the pocket dimension "PirateCat," but for anybody with access to a green color pool (D train) the Newton Centre stop will get you close.
