MnM3 Centropolis (Re-bot)

For laughs, I modified post 104 to add a little temper tantrum when The Princess could not find anyone in the Tower. I should have thought of it sooner. :)

I think you are the only one who has spent a point on reliable comms. Still, we could have done actual planning in the OOC thread as well. And then someone could have translated it to a long winded IC post. But we didn't so. Whatevs for now. If we have non-supers grade comms for this fight so be it. And enjoy The Princess screaming "oh poopies" and similar "expletives" over said comms.

I was extremely board. And I love maps. So I made a map of the greater Centropolis area based on bg material we have. (Just about everywhere is north of the Platt River. I assume that area is full of suburban sprawl.) The scale might be a bit wonky as there are only so many places where distances are given. I also took some liberties with the centralist canal having a fork in it. Nebraskans will wonder how I-80 runs along the Platt River in the western part of the state. Well, if Centropolis has been around since 1848, the highway system would have put I-80 through it and would have added an extra highway (I-29) just for good measure.

Karl, if anything is way off, let me know.

EDIT: Fixed a few things. I had Red Haven, Little Russia, the fusion reactor, and Middleton Army Base in the "wrong" places. I also moved a few places in the west a bit east. Looking at it again, I'm wondering if Red Haven and Little Russia shouldn't also be a bit to the east.

More map facts.

I based it vaguely on the area of US-26 running between Oshkosh and Broadwater. Although the angle of the river is a bit off but that should only bug me. (Or, I could just put an arrow pointing 15 degrees west of north on the map and call it perfect. :)) Oshkosh would be where I have the I-380 beltway branch off from I-80. And Broadwater would be a town west of the The Smokes which I-29 passes just west of.

This placement also means the Unobtainium mines are located in what on our Earth is the Crescent Lake National Wildlife Preserve. Again, since it was founded in 1848, presumable, the wildlife in the area was obliterated by the mining companies long before the National Parks Commission could attempt to preserve them.

It is easily argued I should have placed the city closer to Scott's Bluff since that area of the state in our world had little train service until the late 1890s.

The City of the Future, Today description of Centropolis is at odds with this map in one important way and one minor one. The minor one is the mention of Sunny Newark in the Blue Bluffs entry. I suspect that is a reference to a name changed Sunnyvale. The bigger one is harder to deal with. It says Sunnyvale is north of the Crescent Lake Preserve. Problem is, the preserve is north of the north most spur of the Northern Platte River and there are no rivers in Nebraska that would work. So perhaps there is another Crescent Lake south of Sunnyvale and a National Preserve developed there instead of the place where it is on our Earth.

Finally, I didn't add it, because I didn't want to name it, but there should probably be a sizable International airport in the city, being even bigger, better, and higher tech than Denver's airport 170 miles to the southwest. Probably located south east of the river since there's nothing out there at the moment. So some of that suburban sprawl could include the splash of hotels and bars that surround an airport.

map looks good and well placing fictional big cities in real world spaces effects lots ;)

I am waiting for a few more IC posts before rolling anything for the robot or posting results of stuff... but Silver Streak can also make a Technology roll (unskilled if he does not have any ranks)

As has been stated, Felix would arrive in the plaza at noon Sharp; he would be in a trailer until the last moments...

Also, made a few mistakes...
[sblock=Force Wall]-Create, Force Wall 3[13/15 points out of 12/14]
--Distracting, Stationary, Tether, Movable, Selective, Impervious, Removable[/sblock]
His force fields are a lot weaker then needed to lift him, and an athletic norm can, reliably, punch through them :/
Thought they were tougher.
Also they are over spent by one
Forgot about tether adding a flat +1
Feel kind of stupid now.

Fixes for now:
Just say he walked instead and remove tether for now.

or remake it as[sblock=Force Wall]-Create, Force Wall 9[12/14 points out of 12/14]
--Skill Magic roll 17+, Distracting, Stationary, Tether, Selective, Removable[/sblock]

Joy for errors geting noticed right at combat when you ask yourself, "can it englobe its head?"

I figure the head is about Size 0 (30 feet or so long, maybe 15 feet wide, it is much larger then a human head size would be for a 120ft tall human). So with 9 ranks sure totally if you want to. You still have to hit its Defense and all it would do was hang around it right? Does it block sight?

Also from the IC, does the Shadow have any Super Senses that would allow him to see inside the giant Robot? Teleport says you have to be able to sense where you are teleporting (normally see where you are going) or be familiar with your destination.
