CB's The Sunless Citadel v3.5

Meepo shrinks away from Korgrave's snake with a whimper. Korgrave holds the rope fast while Grotzkoshter climbs down. Grotz ably makes it down into the pit. With two of them working together, Karl and Grotz shove the flagstone to the side. The elf woman inside looks nigh panicked to find that her rescuers are two half-orcs and starts to flail.

Tailspinner, you take the elf. I'll take over Kiaphas from this point on out.

Kiaphas, up top, looks down. "It's dark. Who, or what, is in there, Karl?"

Kaeleen : Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

At first, when she heard the commotion above her, the elven maiden had thought she had found favor with Corellon Larethian once more. But upon seeing the two half-orcs above her, all thoughts of rescue were quickly extinguished. She began to squirm in response to her new enemies. The gag still secure about her mouth, she can do little to stave off her would be attackers.

"Mmmmm."

Grotzkoshter

A pointy eared like you Kiphas.
Says Grotz to the cleric and grins to Karl.
Come woman, you are safe now, there is another Olf like you up that pit.

With that he grabs the woman and pull her up.

Karl has Grotz hold the woman steady while he unties her bonds, or cuts them away when he can't get his fingers around the knots. He removes the gag and tosses it back down, patting the elf reasuringly on the shoulder.

"Safe."

Kaeleen : Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

At first Kaeleen had continued to squirm a bit, but once she was pulled up, her bonds were cut, and she saw Kiaphas looking down from above, she relaxed.

"Thank you for your help. I did not think I would ever get away from those filthy goblins."

Kiaphas begins looking over the new arrival. "How badly and where are you injured? Surely you cannot have been stuffed down into that murder pit without suffering injury?" The priest looks at the pit and shudders. "How long have you been in there?"

Karl leaves the elf to fend for herself for the moment, regathering his crowbar and returning it to his pack which he dons once again as he considers the route up and out of the pit once more. After a moment, politeness gets the better of him and he turns to face the woman once more, inclining his head slightly. He taps his chest.

"Karl."

Then gestures to the other half orc

"Grotzkoshter. . . Grotz."

Then up out of the pit.

"Kiaphas, Elyan, Ko. . ."

He shakes his head as he reminds himself that their last team member has left, and arkwardly tries to correct himself.

"Meepo."

Seeing that the elf woman suffers a gauge on her forearm and a few scrapes, Kiaphas begins mumbling a prayer to Corellon Larethian and casts cure light wounds on the woman, healing her full up. While healing the newcomer, the priest looks expectantly up at her, awaiting her reply.

"Greetings, Lady," says the young bard, bowing and smiling. "Know that you are among friends."

He pitches his voice low and speaks gently, to soothe and encourage.

"I am Elyan, and this is my companion, Rogue."

"Tell us, if you don't mind, how you came to be the goblins' prisoner."

Kaeleen : Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

Before Kiaphas' healing:

"I am Kaeleen. I serve the great elf father, Corellon Larethian. I do not know how long I have been down there. It is difficult to tell time without a point of reference. I remember traveling with my twin sister Gaeleen and our escort Caleb. I think we were on a mission of mercy. But when we were camped for the night we were attacked by goblins. I have not seen my sister or Caleb since. The goblins forced me to purify the food they ate and to create a clean source of water for them. I have trouble remembering things since my capture."

After Kiaphas' healing:

"Thank you. Your cure spell seems to have helped my memory some how. I remember now. We were transporting a phylactery of faithfulness as a loan to another clericy in the free city of Greyhawk. When we were encamped alongside the road a day's journey north of Oakhurst, we were attacked by a band of goblins lead by a very strange male human in hide. He seemed to be a believer of some primitive divine shaman spirit. He seemed to be in command of the goblins and they did his bidding. Before being knocked unconscious I saw the man and can well enough remember his appearance and nature. He carried a silver sickle and used a smooth green stick about six inches long to command the reeds and rushes alongside the byway to entangle and ensnare us. He had a giant tree frog as his companion. Something about the entire encounter must have displeased Corellon greatly, for when I woke, I found myself unable to cast anything by purify food and drink, and create water."
