CB's The Sunless Citadel v3.5

Elyan sways in response to the unexpected assault and the consequent nausea as he grips the javelin, pulls it forth and casts it aside. Then he snarls - a shocking sound to come from lips which more often produce beauty than belligerence - and calls on Rogue to lead him towards the enemy.

Wielding his rapier like an avenging angel, he attempts to skewer the wretched creature which attacked him.

Grotzkoshter

Wha…?!
Grotz turns with surprise, that spear could easily kill a boar, this blind human is very lucky. Heraise his axe once more and makes his way to engage the goblin

Karl tucks his short sword between his teeth and steps up the wall. Karl's extreme height makes the climb more of a hop and the half-orc is soon over the wall and marching down the length of the rest of room, short sword back in hand. At Karl's approach, the pair of goblins dart back around the corner out of sight. Kaeleen touches Elyan gently on the shoulder and says a soft prayer, restoring 4 hit points to the blind bard. With a firm grasp on Rogue, Elyan moves forward, barely noticing the warmth of Kaeleen's healing touch flow through his body. Rogue abruptly stops short and whinnies, and Elyan, sticking out a hand to see what deters the dog, feels the half-wall in front of him obstructing his forward progress. The wall proves an awkward obstacle for Elyan, and he fumbles to get a firm enough grasp on it to be able to climb over.

Rolled a 1 on a climb check for Elyan. The climb is pitifully easy but a 1 just isn't enough when coupled with Elyan's +1 to strength.

Grotzkoshter, who had busily been ransacking the four dead goblins, stands up with a grunt of surprise. Spying the pair of goblins retreat behind the corner, Grotz leaves off his search of the dead goblins and quickly climbs over the half-wall. Karl, seeing the two goblins flee, advances forward a bit more in Grotz's wake. Up ahead, Grotz sees an open door down a short narrow hall through which the goblins must've fled. Past the open door is a room stained with filth and what looks like shabby hides strewn across the floor. The stench of creatures not overly concerned with hygiene fills both Grotz's and Karl's nostrils, even from this distance, and the scurrying of multiple sets of bare feet frantically flapping on the flagstone floor can be heard from somewhere inside the room.

Grotzkoshter

His eyes piercing the darkness, searching fanatically for the little figures, Grotz advance with caution, not wanting to be caught by surprise, he swings his axe around the corner before entering to the room, than he roars and tries to find the goblins.
Once he'll see one he'll charge the creature without mercy

Kaeleen : Female Elf Cleric of Corellon Larethian 2

Noticing Elyan's difficulty maneuvering the half-wall, Kaeleen decides to help him over. "Elyan! It is a low wall. Once we get you over I need you to grab Rogue when I hand him over." Next she grabs Rogue and lifts the canine over the wall into the bard's waiting arms. Finally she will climb over the wall.

OOC: I realize this will probably take more then one round. Just stating her intent.

Short sword in hand, Karl barrels past Grotzkoshter. Spying a goblin lurking just around the corner with a javelin in its hand after he takes off, Karl tries to duck out of the way as the orange-skinned smelly creature lunges with its javelin at him, but doesn't move fast enough. The javelin sticks into Karl's flesh for 2 points of damage. Enraged, Karl swings at the foul creature but misses.

Goblin took an AoO as Karl moved through a diagonal that the goblin threatened. The goblin was hiding around the corner and Karl didn't spot him in time.

Encouraged by Karl's miss, the goblin by the wall pokes at Karl a second time with his javelin but misses. The second goblin in the room, who also has a javelin, has poor aim as well; the second goblin flings its javelin at Karl from across the room but misses, then starts backing away around the corner. The first goblin sees its kin flee to the south and, uncertain about being left alone with a large half-orc, takes a five foot step backward, away from the angry and hulking Karl.

Kaeleen helps Elyan over the wall, then starts to hoist Rogue over after the bard. The dog seems non-plussed at being picked up but at an encouraging word from his master, settles in and allows Kaeleen to pick him up long enough to be passed over the wall.

Double move action to get Elyan over, then Rogue over for both Elyan and Kaeleen. Next round, Kaeleen can climb over herself, and Elyan can continue on as he sees fit.

Still under the effects of Kaeleen's bless spell, Grotz bolts forward after Karl. The corner and Karl's position both conspire to prevent Grotz from charging, but the fierce warrior enters the room anyway and swings away at Goblin 2. A single swing and 15 points of damage later, little remains of Goblin 2.

Meepo yips at Elyan, then starts searching through the four goblin corpses by the fire pit.

[sblock=Draconic] "Meepo stay, look for shinies on gobbos." [/sblock]

Initiative:
Karl 17
Goblin sneaks 16
Kaeleen 8
Elyan 4
Grotzkoshter 4

Distracted by Meepo's yip, Elyan snaps a comment over his shoulder then, without waiting for Kaeleen, races off after the goblins.

"Rogue, guide!"

[sblock=Draconic]"Yes, Meepo, look for shinies. Only, don't take too long, in case there are other gobs nearby!"[/sblock]

Grotzkoshter should have benefitted from his Cleave feat last round. Rectifying that...

Grotz, encouraged by how heartily he mopped the floor with Goblin 2, swings a second time and smashes Goblin 1 for 12 points of damage, killing the creature outright. Faced by a second half-wall blocking further forward progress, Grotz pauses a moment as the bloodlust drains from his eyes. A few seconds later, Elyan rushes into the room, his hand firmly grasping Rogue by the ruff of the dog's neck. Rogue seems to want to sniff the dead goblins. A quick search of the dead creatures by Karl reveals a coin purse on goblin 2, with 4 gold crowns inside. The other goblin also has a purse but instead of gold, the creature has 12 silver marks. All the coins bear the minting of Velund.

Not yet in the new room, Kaeleen keen ears prick to the sound of some sort of war drum banging, perhaps back in the pillared hall. The low beat grows louder by the second. Meepo looks up from searching the four dead goblins by the fire ring on the other side of the crenellated half-wall and, eyes wide, points and yips at the way behind.
