CB's The Sunless Citadel v3.5

Kiaphas Liadon Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

Seeing the door finally moving, Kiaphas looks past Karl into the new chamber. "Perhaps this will work even better for a resting spot. It appears that this place has not been disturbed for a long time." Kiaphas tries to push past Karl to look in the new room. "I'll just see if there are any other exits from this new room."

Karl regards the skeltons warily. Why leave the dead to guard a room? He draws his blade and holds it ready in his hand as he slowly steps into the room to kick at the skeletons, ensuring their eternal rest is at hand.

As soon as Kiaphas steps over the threshhold into the secret chamber, pinpoints of red fire kindle in the skeletons' eye sockets and the bags of bones rattle as they animate to false life and rise from their resting positions inside the room.

Kiaphas finds himself just inside a 15-foot square chamber, the east and south ends of which are strewn with rubble, as three skeletal figures hungrily eye him with the taint of unlife after death. Skeletons 1 and 3 have shortbows. Skeleton 2 has a short sword.

Kiaphas Liadon Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

Thinking quickly, Kiaphas presents his holy symbol, and speaks in a clear and concise manner. "Denizens of undeath, cower at the might of Corellon Larethian. For I am a disciple of the great father."

OOC: Turn Undead +0

Grotzkoshter

Grotz, ready to everything but not to that, stares wordless at the skeletons, amazed and scared, this is the first time he sees a dead corpse walking, or should it be said, an undead corpse walking.
Locked to his spot, if any of the skeletons ventures outside, he will swing his Greataxe toward them.

At Kiaphas's clear voice, which rings out in flowing Elvish and echoes throughout the secret chamber and the tower shell, the skeletal warriors shrink away from the priest and his sunrod. Kiaphas's channeled holy power anathema to their undead remains, all three skeletons retreat and cringe at the back of the 15-foot secret chamber.

Though we're still on initiative, everyone should please go ahead and post at will.

Korgrave, not entirely unfamiliar with the priestly ritual summoned by Kiaphas, loads and launches yet another stone in his sling. The half-orc druid has better luck this time as his aim proves true and the stone smashes into the mid-section of skeleton 2, which wields the short sword. Korgrave deals 3 hp of damage to the skeleton. A spray of bones clatter to the floor within the secret chamber as Korgrave's stone breaks apart what used to be the creature's breast. While daunted by the presence of the priest, however, skeleton 2 remains standing.

Nodding sagely to himself as he sees the skeletons rise from their rest, Karl tightens his grip on his blade. With Kiaphas's divine energy holding the skeltons at bay, Karl steps inside to attempt to deliver the undead to their rest. He swings his blade heavily, hoping to apply enough force to shatter bone.

Attack +4, 1d6+4

Karl, his nerves steel against even the unnatural, enters the secret chamber and resolutely swings his own short sword against skeleton 1. Despite landing what otherwise would surely have been a masterful and killing blow, Karl's blade partially slices through bare air between the ribs of the creature, delivering only 5 points of damage to the cringing skeletal archer in the corner.

Hearing Kiaphas' words, Elyan laughs, gleeful at the thought of pitting himself against the animated bones. Calling on Rogue to guide him forward, the bard moves in and lunges at the skeleton nearest, his blade seeking to sever some vital connection in the monstrosity.

[sblock=OOC]Attack +1, rapier, damage 1d6+1, 50% miss chance (total concealment); may reroll the miss chance (due to Blind Fight)[/sblock]

While Grotzkoshter holds his ground outside in the tower shell should a last line of defense be needed, Elyan sallies forth into the secret chamber. His rapier extended, Elyan banties his rapier about as if it were second nature. Despite being blind, the bard aptly pierces the pelvic bone of skeleton 3. Though the rapier would have done more than its weight in damage had there been actual flesh to pierce, Elyan deals 3 points of damage to the animated bones.

With all three skeletons still at the far end of the secret chamber cringing in fear and repulsed by Kiaphas's holy imbuement, Rogue remains just outside the doorway to the chamber, near Grotz and Korgrave.
