As he looks into the Dragon's chamber once again, Karl shakes his head and sighs slightly.

"Circles."

Then he brushes by Talgren, starting on a systematic sweep of the doors, starting with the one closest to him, just the other side of the human.

Grotzkoshter

Say …
The big Orcish brute begins to say.
Maybe we can return to Lizards and give them the dragon's corpse. Then we shall re suppyl, eat , rest and take on the gobos when we are refreshed.

The big fighter taps on his belly and sighs
I'm hungry

Karl brushes past Talgren to have a look at the next door over. After careful inspection, Karl finds the door to be neither trapped nor locked. No sound seems to issue from behind the door, though judging by the cold draught of air that whistles underneath the bottom crevice abutting the stone floor, the door leads to a room or a hallway that is ventilated.

Talgren rolls his eyes at Grotzkoshter's whining for food. "I've had naught but maggoty bread and piss for I don't know how many days on end, all of it punctuated by the meaty end of a mule's-arse-smelling hobgoblin's fist, and you're bellyaching over your next meal?"

The bard suddenly stiffens. He speaks softly but with urgency. "Quiet, you two. Something's moving down there."

He gestures towards the far end of the long, pillared hallway.

"Perhaps we should move into Calcryx's lair and wait for them to come to us?"

Grotz places the basket and the keg on the stony floor and ready his weapon.
How many?
He whispers and signals his lizard slave to ready the spear.
[sblock=OOC]Elyan whispers in return, "I don't know. The DM didn't tell me." [/sblock]

Karl shakes his head at Elyan's suggestion, still having trouble mastering communication with the deaf human. He rumbles quietly.

"Too tight, better out here."

He draws his blade and begins padding down the hallway trying to get a look for anything coming through the double doors, or to get in position to be ready for anything that does.

Nothing more is heard, but as Grotzkoshter lowers his keg and the basket to the floor and readies his own weapon, Karl draws his short sword and pads down the long hall, trying to use the pillars as cover. Talgren is left to stand stupidly by the wall, his mouth agape at Karl and Grotz, and his eyes darting left and right as he tries to figure out from where the sound heard by Elyan issues. Just as Karl reaches the last pillar and determines that the double set of doors at the end are not quite closed all the way to, Kaeleen, Karl, and Grotz all three spy a goblin streak from behind the farthest pillar opposite Karl at the end of the hall and squeeze through the doors. Karl tries to grab the little bugger but the thing is too quick by a long shot. The door is left ajar after the goblin's egress, and Karl overhears the burble of many gutteral voices, some of high-pitched quality and others of deeper resonation.

Talgren hisses at Grotz, "You there, half-orc, what's down there?!" Stripped of its former haughty arrogance, the lad's voice is laden with a dose of fear.

Moved everyone up just a tad on the map.

Grotzkoshter

Goblin scum.
Grotz replies and moves quietly as he can to hide behind the open door that is opposite to where Karl is. (Between the two opened doors in the south)
