CB's The Sunless Citadel v3.5

"Ha! A brisk encounter and a happy outcome. Let us clear the debris and make camp - it should be nicely cosy in here."

Elyan's comments are punctuated by regular flicks of his blade, as he tries to remove the bit of bone at its tip. Finally, he gives up, slides fingers delicately along the blade, and removes the bony scrap, tossing it over his shoulder in a cavalier gesture.

"I wonder why those undead were here, in this lookout. What sort of place is this, that such things should happen?"

Grotzkoshter

Silenced and ashamed of himself Grotz say nothing, he just tosses the remains of skeletons outside to the tower's court, preparing his stuff for the night's sleep.

Karl stays in the corner for a moment, trying to calm himself. He slows his heavy breathing and tries to regain his composure, slowly dusting off his hands. He looks around at the room for a moment when he suddenly feels something flick him in the head. He reaches up slowly and finds a small chunk of bone stuck in his hair, with a perfect little hole drilled in it.

He gives Elyan a heartly glare that will never be seen and renews his survey of the room.

"Bones in pit trap?"

Kiaphas Liadon Elven Cleric of Corellon Larethian

As the last skeleton falls, the elf noticable relaxes. "At last we can rest. I will check to make sure there are no other concealed doors in this area." He takes his time as he searches the walls in the alcove for any sign of a hidden door or portal.

OOC: Taking 20 on search checks.

Kiaphas traces the room but finds no hint of anything resembling a door or hidden passageway. The room appears to be 15-feet square in measurement, with its southern wall partially caved in and strewn with rubble. An old arrow slit, only partially intact, looks out south and east to reveal the room's original purpose. The view from the arrow slit is obscured in great measure by a massive landslide of rocks outside the tower, back in the courtyard. Grotz makes quick work of depositing the unwanted skeletal bones outside the room, back in the tower shell.

Kiaphas shakes his head once he has searched the area completely. "There doesn't appear to be any other exits from this small room. I think this will make the best camp site." He looks at the others. "Any votes against camping here?"

No.
Grotz says as he rolls the keg to the corner, preparing the wooden mugs he took from the tavern to be filled with good ale.

Elyan shakes his head as he calls Rogue to him.

"I have no objections. By all means, let us take our rest and prepare for tomorrow's adventure!"

The party camps in the secret chamber that Grotz divested of skeleton bones. Though not a quiet night--dripping water echoes from somewhere beyond the tower shell and rats audibly scurry and scratch throughout the long dark hours--the companions take their rest in turns and wake feeling better. After eight hours of rest, Grotz still does not feel entirely recovered from the ravages of the puncture wound on the back of his neck. After 12 hours, however, Grotz feels somewhat better. The hole in his neck closes over and new pink skin begins to knit where the flying creature had bored in its probiscus.

One day has elapsed. For those to whom it matters (Kiaphas, for example), it is now early the next morning. Everyone heals their level in HP. Grotz recovers one of the ability score points that he was down. Please continue to post at will.

Karl rises in the early morning hours, uncurling from a highly uncomfortable position which he had to take to fit his not insubstantial frame into the tiny room. He stands straight for a moment, rising to his full height and stretching his arms high above his head. The cacophany of creaking bones and groans fills the chamber for a moment before the rogue returns to his habitual silent slouch.

"Ready?"
